In this video, belly dancer Irina Akulenko teaches you how to do hip lifts and a basic shimmy. You'll be shaking it like Shakira in no time. So, now, we are going to go over the basic hip lift. Let's assume our basic belly dance posture position. So, the legs are right under the hip bones. Knees are bent. Lower abs are tucked, chest lifted, arms out. And now you are going to bend the knees even more than before and focus on lifting one hip at a time by straightening one knee at a time. So, as you straighten the right knee, the right hip will come up and it is going to shoot straight up into your body. So you want to think about meeting your hip bone up to the ribcage coming back down to center. Switching over to the other side, straightening that knee, coming back down. Make sure you're keeping your heels on the floor and you are not lifting up with any point. And again, lifting the hip up and back down to neutral position, the other side back down to position. Now, skip that hold in the middle and you're going to go up, and up and up, and up. And, the closer your are to the ground, the easier it will be to find that isolation. Let's try that with music. And a little bit faster, keeping your heels on the floor, chest floating out, arms relaxed. Make sure you are not moving in space and your head is not bopping up and down. And faster. And full speed. And that is the basic hip isolation.

Watch more Boot Camp: Learn about Basic Training videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/498698-How-to-Increase-PushUps-by-400-Boot-Camp No doubt about it in basic training you're gonna gave to do a lot of push ups so you're gonna want to get your push up count as high as possible before you ever meet your drill sergeants. Let me show you the way to do that. You can increase your push up count considerably with this quick and easy routine. First thing you want to do is you want to do some jumping jacks to warm up your body, ok. Just a few. If you can do 25, 30 great. Jumping jacks are simple just like this, ok. Now once your body is warmed up this is the routine you'll really have to do to increase your push up count. The first thing you're gonna wanna do is do diamond push ups to exhaustion and when I mean to exhaustion I mean till you literally cannot push yourself off anymore, ok. And a diamond push up is when your hands are on the ground and it looks like this it's making a diamond. Alright, starting position your arm is straight gonna come down as far as possible gonna push yourself back up. Now again work to exhaustion. Then I want you to wait 30 seconds. Do a normal push up where your hands are normal length. Shoulder width apart, ok. Again you're going to exhaustion. And I'm gonna tell you the reason you're gonna go in this order in just a few minutes. Now we're gonna do wide grip push ups. So your hands are gonna be even farther apart then the normal grip of course. Nice and wide. So in between each of the diamond, the normal and the wide grip you're gonna be taking a 30 second break, gonna be working each to exhaustion. All of those three exercises is one set. You're gonna wanna do three of those every other day and if you're used to where you can do those three exercises without any problems do four sets then five sets then six sets however long you have to go until basic training. Now here's a tip when you're doing diamond push ups you're working your fast twitch muscle fibers in your triceps. When you're doing wide grip you're working your slow twitch muscle fibers in your chest. You're building up your chest your arms and your triceps all on one where you do each of the three variations of push ups. So if you could do twenty push ups before you even start this exercise you should easily be able to do 80 without stopping after you've done a few weeks of this exercise.

Watch more Dreams & Dream Interpretation videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/35924-How-to-Lucid-Dream Learning how to lucid dream—that is, to be aware during your dreams that you are, indeed, dreaming—will allow you to live out fantasies, stop nightmares, and even road test some solutions to real life problems. Step 1: Start a dream journal Keep a journal and a pen next to your bed so you can immediately record everything that happens in your dreams. You’ll begin to see patterns, and that will help you realize when you’re actually in the middle of a dream. Step 2: Adopt some new habits Look intently at mirrors, book titles, and your watch face several times a day. In dreams, these images are always blurred. Looking at them while awake will increase their appearances in your dreams, helping you recognize when you are dreaming. Tip Pinching yourself when you’re awake is another good way to train your brain to recognize when you’re dreaming, because when you pinch yourself in a dream you feel no pain. Step 3: Talk to yourself Tell yourself as you drift off to sleep that you’re going to have a lucid dream. Research shows that simply instructing your brain to realize you’re dreaming—especially when you’re in the suggestible pre-sleep phase—helps boost your odds of doing so. Step 4: Set an early alarm Set your alarm half an hour earlier than normal. When it rings, stay awake 30 to 60 minutes, then go back to sleep. Because you likely interrupted dream-intense REM sleep, you’re now 20% to 50% more likely to have a lucid dream. Tip So George Clooney is about to kiss you and you feel like you’re starting to wake up? Pretend to spin around in circles. This keeps the dream going 96% of the time. Step 5: Start directing Once you’re attuned to the fact that you’re dreaming, start altering the action. Fly over mountains. Tell off your mother-in-law. Have a 'dream' date. You can also test problem-solving scenarios, practice sensitive confrontations, and speak to loved ones who have passed. Did You Know? Lewis Carroll was inspired to write Alice in Wonderland after having a lucid dream.

So right now I'm going to share with you five advanced techniques, some moves that you might not always think about, but some pretty interesting ways to kind of use your body and coordinate some motion. The first example is something called a rose move, and a rose move is when you actually open away from the walls, that your hips are facing in a different direction. Often times the way the holds are laid out on the wall will dictate whether or not these types of moves are going to be necessary. So the rose move would be when my left hand was here, and I'm crossing underneath with my right hand, turning my hips away from the wall. Another example of an advanced technique will be what's known as a knee bar. A knee bar is when you're using not necessarily your knee, but more commonly the to of your thigh, and you're going to use that thigh and your foot to really create some opposition and allow your body to really be weighted on just that knee bar, and the tension that you're getting between those two points. So right there you'll notice I can take all my body weight and place it right here on this knee bar with my left foot really pushing and getting that thigh up against that hold, which allows me to turn this corner. One other technique would be similar to using a toe hook, except you're using two toe hooks at the same time, which is also known as a bat hang. In this instance, a bat hang allows me to make this change in angle and complete this transition. So that would be a bat hang. Another technique is something known as a bicycle, and a bicycle is where you're using the bottom side of your toe and the top of your toe, which would be a toe hook, at the same time to basically squeeze one hold or two holds together to create that same sense of opposition, almost like closing a vice. So right here I'll use a bicycle on this yellow hold to keep both of my feet up, keep my body in position. So in this position, you can see one leg is pulling, the other leg is pushing the whole time, I have my core involved to help keep those legs up, my body in position. That's how you use a bicycle. The final move here is something known as a drop knee. The drop knee is a great way to kind of lower your center of gravity, and keep it in your base of support, which are the contact points you have with the wall. When your center of gravity is lower, your base of support, it makes you more stable, more capable of doing a move slowly, with a bit more control. So to get into the drop knee, I'll place my left foot on this hold, and then literally turn my knee in, dropping it down, and twisting up. That drop knee allows you to really keep your center of gravity nice and low within your base of support, making your body nice and balanced and stable, really allows you to suck that hip in nice and close to the wall, to get a little bit of extra reach out of that whole system. And those are a couple of advanced bouldering techniques you might encounter here in the gym.

The most important thing is how to finish your flair routine. You're doing all sorts of stuff, bottles are going all over the place, everyone's sitting there like this watching everything you're doing all in awe, how do you finish, how to you pour the bottle? The last thing you want to do is do all this crazy stuff, and then just take the bottle and go like that, it's anticlimactic, it doesn't work. So what we want to do is we want to learn how to do is Flip to Pour. What you're going to do is you're going to hold your bottle in what's called a bartender grip. Instead of holding it like this, we're going to hold it by the neck just like a bartender would take it out of the bottle or out of their well. What we're going to do is we're going to take our bottle, we're going to take our tin, the mouth is going to face up because that's what we're going to pour it into. We're going to take our bottle and you're going to snap it outward, away from your body, and what you're going to do is as soon as you let go of your bottle you're going to simply open your hand and the bottle is going to fall right back into it. It looks like this, it's really easy actually. It's a one-rotation, you're just going to snap, open, and let the bottle fall into your hand It's already in a pouring position. With your other hand you're going to have your tin set here ready to go. You're going to flip, catch, and you're already pouring the bottle. Then as you get more and more comfortable, you go to glass with liquid in it. Because we're flipping the bottle centrifugal force is involved so we want to make sure that the bottle has less than two ounces, or two ounces or less. Any more than that and this move can't be done, we'd have to figure out a different way to pour. Maybe we could take the bottle and throw it around our head, but in this case what we're going to do is, we're going to take our bottle, our tin, we're going to set it, we're going to flip, and we're going to pour. When you're done you bring your bottle down to cut the pour and then were going to just put our tin on the bar. If we're doing shots maybe we'll pour it straight from a tin into our glass. So again, just to reiterate the concept, we're going to take our bottle, we're going to put our tin here, we're going to flip our bottle, catch our bottle, and pour. When we're ready to stop we're going to simply bring our bottle down, we're going to pour it into our glass or whatever we're pouring it into, and that is how you do a Bottle Flip to a Pour.

We're in New York. And I'm going to teach you how to tie the Merovingian knot. It's also called Ediety knot. So the way you want to start for this knot, it's a knot that goes around the narrow side quite a few times, so you want to wear the wide end fairly long compared to the narrow end, probably about 20 inches below depending on the length of your tie. So this is how you start. The wide end goes underneath the narrow end. You go over the top once and pull it out on the same side. So this is what you have. Now you go over to the front, underneath through the back, and now you should be in this position so the tie is upside down. So this is a tie from my friend Cara Patrizio from Capelli in Naples, Italy. And this is how you proceed. So your tie is upside down. You go around the back, through the top. You're almost there. Now the last step you have to complete is reverse the knot, loosen it gently, and slide the white part inside the loop that you've created for that. Adjust it nicely. Tighten the knot, and there you go. You have your Merovingian knot. So after spending so much time tying the knot, it's something you don't want to wear when you're really casual. It's really a knot that is used in formal occasions, probably wearing a three piece suit, for example, or a nice blazer. And definitely going with a sophisticated look with this type of knot. The guy who created this knot probably watch Matrix a little bit too much, but this is probably where the name came from, the Merovingian knot.

Watch more How to Take Care of a Pet Bird videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/217448-How-to-Train-Your-Bird-to-Talk Birds aren't like babies—you can't expect them to pick up speech just by babbling away at them. You need a plan. Step 1: Pick the right breed If you haven’t already bought Tweety, pick a breed that is known for its chattiness. Amazon parrots and African greys are the gabbiest, followed by macaws, male cockatiels, mynahs, and parakeets. Tip Female cockatiels, female budgies, grass parakeets, rosellas, and canaries don’t talk. Step 2: Choose an inquisitive bird Once you’ve narrowed your choices to a talkative breed, focus your attention on choosing a bird that seems alert and interested in what’s going on around him. These are clues that he’ll make a good talker. Step 3: Get a young bird Get a young bird. Like the proverbial old dog who can’t learn new tricks, an older bird is going to have more trouble picking up speech. Step 4: Name that bird Give the bird a name that is no more than two syllables. A longer name reduces the chances that he will learn to say his own name. Step 5: Designate a teacher If you’re married and/or have children, pick one person to teach the bird. If several people are trying to instruct the bird, it will only confuse it. Tip Birds learn more easily from women. Step 6: Time your training Start training at the optimal time. For smaller birds, that’s at four to six months. For bigger birds, wait until they’re six to twelve months. Tip Don’t teach a bird to whistle before training him to talk, or it will make the speech lessons that much harder. Step 7: Keep it simple Start training by saying a few simple words to Tweety, always using them under the same circumstances. For example, you could say 'Good morning' every day when you first rise, and you could reserve 'Bye' for when the bird can see you walk out the door. Step 8: Repeat words Repeat the words several times in each instance. You want the bird to start associating the sound you are making with the context. Step 9: Reward speech Give Tweety a treat every time he repeats something you are teaching him. Tip Remember that birds don’t just repeat what you want them to; they mimic sounds they hear. So if you’re suffering a bout of loud flatulence, or getting ready to rip someone a new one, stay out of Tweety’s earshot. Step 10: Unteach them If Tweety has picked up a bad word, washing his mouth out with soap won’t work. But ignoring him when he repeats the word will, because getting your attention is his main incentive. Step 11: Enjoy Now enjoy chatting with your fine-feathered friend! Did You Know? Talking birds often will imitate your phone’s ring tone because they get a kick out of watching you come running.

Watch more Boot Camp: Learn about Basic Training videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/498622-What-Military-Branch-Should-You-Join-Boot-Camp Let's review some of the basics about each branch. First of all the marines, they are considered riflemen first. They have more marksmanship training than any other branch, and it has the most difficult basic training regimen. They have the incredible ability to convert dollar power into combat power, as they have no big budget like the Air Force, but they also have lots of military pride. Let's talk about the army, which has the second most intense basic training regimen. They have about three weeks of marksmanship, and recruits can pick from hundreds of different MOS's, which stands for military occupational specialty, and those MOS's translate well into civilian jobs. The navy: deep rooted with tradition, and if you like to travel this is the branch for you. Family men might want to consider the time they are going to spend away from their family though, given the fact that all of the time you are going to spend on ships. Also, if you are claustrophobic, it might not be a good idea to join the Navy, as you are going to be spending a lot of time in tight quarters. If you like large vessels and ships, the Navy is definitely the way to go. They have an awesome inventory of powerful ships. Let's talk about the Air Force. An impressive compilation of machinery and technology. If you are good with computers and technology this is definitely the branch that you should join. It also has the best housing of all the branches too. It's also the most difficult to get into as far as education requirements. The Coast Guard, Uncle Sam's little canoe club. If you like search and rescue missions, if you have an interest in maritime law, if you like environmental protection this is gonna be a good branch for you. You are going to need a high school diploma, and you are going to need to love to swim in order to join the coast guard. And that's it. Think long and hard about your decision because it is difficult to change once you have committed to a certain branch.

Step 2: Get the cat used to the harness Get the cat used to the harness by putting it on them without buckling it. Tip Put the harness on the cat during playtime when the cat is more likely to be comfortable. Step 3: Reward the cat Reward your cat with plenty of treats and affection. Petting your cat during your training sessions will help your feline friend associate the harness with positive feelings. Step 4: Buckle one loop Continue putting the harness on the cat each day until the cat ignores it. After that, you can buckle one of the harness's loops for 30 seconds. Step 5: Build up to three loops Build up to buckling the entire harness, one loop at a time. The process can take several months. Once your cat is comfortable with the harness completely buckled, let them walk around while wearing it. Step 6: Add the leash Add the leash when your cat is comfortable with the harness. Let them walk around with the leash for as long as it takes to get used to it. Step 7: Go for practice walks Go for practice walks around the house for a few days. Step 8: Go for the first walk Go for a walk when your cat is used to you holding the leash. Let them lead you on the first few walks. Bring treats along for encouragement. Tip Make sure it is quiet outside when you go for your walk. You don't want your cat to get spooked. Step 9: [Tug the leash lightly] Tug the leash lightly to lead the cat on subsequent walks. Step 10: Be patient Be patient. Teaching a cat to walk on a leash takes time. Take the training process day by day, moving on to each step only when your cat is ready. Did You Know? Only 20% of pet cats are adopted from shelters.

So first stretch we are going to put our both legs out, like this, and we're going to go down, come up and maybe add like a little twist. Maybe I might do that four to eight times. So we're going to go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. After you do that a couple of times warming up, now you go down for the stretch. You try to grab your toes and try to keep your upper body low as you can and maybe forward again 10 to 30 seconds and up. If you guys have a little trouble doing this exercise, again, you can start out grabbing the ankles or you can tuck your knees in, grab your toes and slowly work down this way and hold. OK? It takes time. Now the other stretch we are going to do is we are going to put one leg in and one leg out. Keep your upper body straight and try to stretch down. Try to put your head to your knees and go as low as you can. Again, hold about 10 to 30 seconds, come up and switch to the other side and down and up. The next stretch we are going to do is called the butterfly stretch. We are going to put our knees together. One. Now make sure you put your feet all the way in like this. I like to grab my toes and bounce my knees like a butterfly. So do this again maybe 10 to 30 times, bounce, warming up. Now it's time to go down. We're going to keep our backs straight and exhale and breathe down, going down, breathing out. Now up. Now we're going to do this thing called a split stretch. Now we're going to open our legs as wide as you can. Now, again, I like to maybe open a little wider by putting my hands forward and hands back and then kind of push my hip forward, trying to get as much as you can. Now the first thing we're going to do is stretch down the middle. So we're going to go down, one. Now, again, you're trying to go as low as you can, trying to keep your stomach to the ground. Again, hold about 10 to 30 seconds. Up. Go to the side. Use your hands and try to grab your toes. Up. Go to the other side. And these are some ground stretches. I encourage you guys to stretch before, definitely before class, and also when your body is really warmed up, it's great to stretch after class also.

Eric: This is called a spin-back dribble. Dwayne: Spin-back. Eric: It's hard to explain these kind of dribbles, because this is kind of something you have to really practice on Dwayne: Oh, really? Eric: But we're going to try to break it down using the expert dribbler. Dwayne: Okay. Eric: The Roadrunner. Dwayne: Alright. Eric: So you actually want to show the defender. Dwayne: Right. Eric: Your back. Dwayne: Back. Eric: So the defender sees you in front of him first. Dwayne: Right. Eric: And then you actually turn around while maintaining the dribble, and you put the ball in front of him, giving him the illusion he can get it. Dwayne: Right. Eric: But your hands are so quick. Dwayne: Right. Eric: That he's not able to steal the ball. It sounds very complicated. Dwayne: Okay, okay. Eric: But when you become an expert like the Roadrunner, it's child's-play. Dwayne: Alright. Let's see it. Let's see it. Eric: So you're looking at the defender. You go right up on him. Show him your back. Bam. Dwayne: Oh, wow. Eric: That's quick. Bam. Spin-back dribble. Dwayne: And you're certain that these moves work? Because, you know, I've been playing defense all day long, and I'm not really sure. The other ones, but this one? You know what? Come on. I'm playing defense again, because I don't ... Eric: Hey, Swoop, are you sure? Dwayne: No, listen, listen. I can get the ball. I'm going to get the ball. I'm watching you little guy. I'm going to get this ball. I've got it. Come on, baby. Come on. Eric: Hey, Swoop, we need you for the game, man. You were right there. Dwayne: It was right there. I had it, though. It was there. Eric: Relax, man. Listen, listen. That was a nice move right there. I like that one. Good job, buddy. So that's the spin-back dribble. Again, expert moves by an expert ball handler, the Roadrunner. You want to put that ball right in front of the defense. Turn your back on him. Bring it here, and then keep going. That's how you do it. The spin-back dribble.

I'm Mike Patrick, and this is how to do the classic Cups And Balls Trick. You have three balls and three cups. You place one of the balls onto the center cup, stack and then snap, and then one of the balls magically goes through the cups. I can do it again. I place this ball on top. Give it a snap of the fingers and the ball goes right through. It happens every single time whether you want it to or not. And that's the classic Cups And Balls Trick. Now this is a very fancy set of cups, but you can do it with any cups. If you have coffee cups that you can get from Starbucks, you can do it with Starbucks cups and some napkins. That's probably the best way of doing it, because you can just do it in front of your friends, impromptu. It's the easiest method. You need three balls. Actually more specifically, you need four balls. The fourth ball is secret. They never get to know about this. The fourth ball is put in the middle cup. So if you have three cups, you should have cup A, nothing, cup B, that's the ball inside, and then cup C goes on the bottom of this. If you hold the cups in your hand like this, they can see the mouth of this cup, and by grabbing the bottommost cup, you rotate it towards yourself and you put it down. The second cup actually has a ball inside of it, so you don't want to do this, because they'll see the ball. What you do is, again, you rotate it towards yourself, and you do it quickly enough, not fast, but enough so the ball doesn't fall out before the cup hits the table. You place this down. This is essentially what you're going to be doing over and over again. So what you do, is you place this ball on top, you stack them on top, snap your fingers and show that the ball has apparently went through the cup. You do the exact same thing. Re-stack the cups. Place them in a line. Now there are two balls under this cup. When you place this on top, snap, goes through, and then finally you do it one more time, and that makes all three balls go through. Now, when it comes to potty training your parrot, the thing you need to realize is that birds are wild animals. They're going to poop every 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the species. So, the first thing you got to do is get out of your mind that you're going to have a perfect potty train that'll never poop on anything. Because no matter how good of a job you do, accidents will still happen. So, stock up on good cleaning supplies: a wetvac, a mop, anything you can use to clean your parrots nest is good. The less of a big deal you make about the parrot making a mess, the less you're going to encourage any of that type of behavior. Another strategy is to keep the parrot on parrot-approved places, like this tree right here. The bottom is made to be easy to clean. So, if the parrots spent a lot of their time on parrot places instead of on human furniture, you're less likely to have a mess throughout your house. Part of the strategy for keeping your parent on parrot-approved places is to do a lot of training, like the tricks we've been going over. If you teach your parrots tricks on their training arches and trees, they're more familiar with spending time on those places and their more likely to go over to them when they're out and about. Now, when it comes to actually the potty training process, you can't really do it the same way that you teach normal tricks such as clicking and giving a treat. That's known to make parrots hold it in for too long and that can actually hurt their digestive system. So, instead, it's important to encourage the parrot to poop on it's designated places but not mandate it. So, the strategy is to realize how long between poops that your bird goes. If you realize that you have a small bird and it goes every five minutes, that's going to be the number you go for. The bigger bird might be half an hour. But these guys, maybe about 15 minutes. So, what Im going to do, when I want to just spend time with my bird, I want to have him on my shoulder, on me, I will hold them and make sure that I'm not spending more than the allotted time between when they go to do their business. So, I might pick up the bird and hold it for ten minutes. Knowing that they're going to poop in 15. Play with them, do whatever I want to do with my pet. Then, I'm going to go and put them back down on their stand after ten minutes elapses. Now, I'm going to wait five minutes until they finally take their poop, whatever that comes out to. And as soon as they do, I'm going to make a big deal. Be like "Wow, that was very good! That's great!" And I'll come back over and pick up the bird and spend more time with it again. And then ten minutes goes by. I feel like a next poop is due. Before it can happen, I'll put her back down on the perch and wait until she does it. After you do this for a couple weeks or months, your parrot will catch on that the sooner they do their business when they're put down, the sooner you'll pick them up and keep spending time with them. So, they learn to naturally do more of they're business around their perches instead of on you or on unapproved human furniture areas. If your parrot wings aren't clip and they're flighted, they can even learn to fly back to they're stand when they need to go, which is really convenient if you lose track of timing. If they're familiar and accustomed to pooping on their stand, they'll fly over when they need to go. The last thing you can do to encourage your parrot do it's business on it's poopy perch is when you take it out first thing in the morning, put it down on it's perch and wait until it's goes. Most parrots hold it in at night and they have to go really bad in the morning and they try to avoid going in their cages. So, as soon as you take them out, put them right down on their poopy perch and let them go. And after they're done, you can pick them up and do your normal routine with them. This way, they learn to go to that designated place and to hold it in until you put them down and it's time to do it. So, that's some tips for you about potty training your parrot.

Step 1: Position your fingers on the keys Position your fingers on the keyboard. Put your left little finger on the "A" and your right little finger on the semicolon. Lay your fingers one at a time on each consecutive key and place your thumbs on the space bar. Tip The F and J keys on most keyboards have small bumps to easily identify where your two pointer fingers should stay without having to look down. Step 2: Learn the left hand keys Learn what fingers control which keys. The left index finger controls the F, G, R, T, 4, 5, V, and B. The left middle finger controls the D, E, 3, and C. The left ring finger controls the S, W, 2, and x. The left little finger controls the A, Q, 1, Z, and shift. Step 3: Learn the right hand keys Learn what keys the fingers on the right hand type. The fingers on the right hand control the same pattern of keys as you learned on the left side. Step 4: Use your thumb Press the space bar with your right thumb. Step 5: Master the shift keys Master the shift keys with your little fingers. Press the shift key while simultaneously pressing the letter of choice to type a capital letter. If the letter is pressed by the right hand, use the left shift key, and vice versa. Step 6: Sit up straight Sit up straight with both feet on the floor. Position your chair and keyboard so your arms are at a 90 degree angle and are parallel to your legs. Keep your elbows next to your body and your head straight. Tip Try not to look down at the keys. Step 7: Practice Practice typing. You can learn for free online by visiting websites with touch typing tutorials. Learning the art of typing will save you tons of time over the hunt and peck method. Did You Know? The letters on old typewriters used to be listed alphabetically. In the late 1800s, Christopher Latham Sholes rearranged the keys to prevent jamming.

Watch more How to Read Body Language videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/501674-How-to-Spot-Sexual-Attraction-in-Eyes-Body-Language Out of all the different non-verbal behaviors, I think that spotting attraction is without a doubt the easiest. We are very emotional creatures and when we're attracted to somebody, it's very, very difficult to hide. People think they're hiding it, but things always slip. One of the ways they slip are essentially the eyes. There are a lot of different ways you can use the eyes to determine whether or not someone's attracted to you. The first thing is essentially eye contact. For the most part, usually we make eye contact with people that we're interested in or people that we're attracted to. Right? But this is not entirely true. Some people are shy or anxious and they're not going to make eye contact. So what you're looking for essentially is a deviation in eye contact. So one of the ways you can use eye contact and there's a little trick that's very, very reliable. So what you're going to do is if you look at somebody in a bar or restaurant or on the street and they break eye contact vertically, so they look down. So you make eye contact with them and they break eye contact vertically and then within 20-30 seconds they reestablish eye contact, approach them. They like you. It's a very, very reliable thing. Essentially what they're doing. You stare at them. They're submitting to you and then they take a little second glance to see who you are. It's very, very, very reliable. The opposite of that would be if you look at somebody and they look at you and they immediately go and break eye contact. Nope, not interested. But what is reliable is they break eye contact and they come back. Break eye contact and then come back. Break eye contact and then come back. It's very interesting. And don't let it wait. If you see that, go right away because the more and more you wait. The more and more eye contact becomes very, very awkward. One of the things that I do in one of my classes is I have people stare each other in the eyes for three minutes without saying anything. They just stare each other in the eyes like this. Try that. Go out and try to stare somebody in the eyes for even 90 seconds. I guarantee you can't do it. It's awkward. It's so awkward because humans are not really at a level intimacy. When you stare somebody in the eyes is so awkward when you're doing it with a stranger. Studies will show that if you stare somebody in the eyes for 90 seconds to three minutes, all of a sudden you're going to like that person a lot better than everybody else in the room because you kind of shared this emotional connection. So eye contact is important in that respect. The second thing you can look for essentially is blink rate. Now, this is really cool. So blink rate correlate with emotional excitement. When we are emotionally excited, our blink rates tend to increase. Right? Average blink rates tend to be below 20 blinks per minute. For most people it really depends on where you are, but it's really hard to nail down what the average blink rate is. But in my experience, it seems to be around 10 blinks per minute. Right? So you see, whenever you see a sudden spike or a bunch of sudden spikes in somebody's blink rate in can be an indication of attraction. In my dating studies you see blink rates through the roof because the person across the table from you has an emotional response. You're attracted to them. The third way of kind of using the eyes to determine attraction is dilation. It's very interesting. Our eyes dilate when we're attracted to something. Right? Go out and find a Maxim magazine or a Playboy magazine or any cover that's predominately men focusing. Every single woman will have her eyes dilated. You never, ever see them constricted. The reason why is because men perceive women with dilated eyes more attractive than women with more constricted eyes. To the point of back in the day prostitutes used to put a specific toxin in their eyes to make them dilate.

I'm Charles Brunold from New York. I'm going to teach you how to do a Pratt Knot today. The Pratt Knot is also called a Shelby Knot. I have the particularity to start upside down. So, you start with the tie the wide end about 12" below the left of the narrow end. Here I'm going in with a pretty skinny tie. So, the knot we are going to obtain is not as wide and fluffy as the one you would obtain if you did it with a wider tie, obviously. So, this is how you proceed. Starting with the tie upside down, you go the wide end underneath the narrow end, over, inside and out, over the narrow end. Just pull it in front with the wide end in front. Bring it underneath and just slide it inside the loop. There you go. You've got a Pratt Knot. Just adjust the knot. Tighten it and adjust your collar. So, this knot, the Pratt Knot is very suitable for any type of dress shirt, any type of collars. But, here I like to wear it with like a skinny tie and a widespread collar like this one. Seeing the result is fantastic. So, this is how you tie the Pratt Knot.

Jungle Bob is here to show you that owning a pet reptile or amphibian is not as complicated as you might think. In this video, he shares seven tips about caring for a green iguana. Throughout the decades that reptiles have been popular pets, I think the number one seller probably has been the green iguana. Green iguanas hold the stigma from those old Japanese B movies, where they put an iguana across a model of Tokyo and pretended that he was Godzilla. Iguanas have fascinated Americans and have become the number one pet, for sure, over the last 20, 30 years. Personally, I don't think they make the best pets. And the reason why is because there is a lot of husbandry needed; these are tropical animals, they require the proper humidity and heat. They need ultraviolet lights, they need a specialized diet. But, really, it's because they sometimes have an attitude. When they get about 6 feet long, a male iguana suddenly isn't as calm as my little friend here. A male iguana will potentially turn on its owner, and establish its territory in the home. If it's in a fish tank, he's absolutely going to be upset. They really have to be outside in an 8 by 8 foot, 8 foot high room, sitting on a limb, looking down on their owner. And then they're perfectly fine pets. But if you want to keep them in a fish tank and approach them from the top, they sometimes get skittish. When they are skittish, the number one thing they do is whip their tail in your direction. The second thing they'll do is try to bite. And the third thing is rake you with their claws. Either one of those things is an event you don't want to experience, because a 6-foot iguana, this guy is about 2, maybe, a 6-foot iguana is a formidable creature that can inflict harm. We also have seen that male iguanas when they get old, when they become sexually mature, turn on their owners because they're territorial and want to establish their own area. And that is usually the time they end up coming back to the pet store, or back where they came from. If no one will take them back, people will let them go. And in northern climates, that's a death sentence for the animal. In southern climates, like Florida, they have procreated, and they have now established, and they are now truly an invasive species. So, I always say, if you want an iguana, please go get one. My choice for an iguana would be the rock iguanas. The rock iguanas are a big bodied creature that comes form the Caribbean Islands. And here I've got a good friend of mine, and the green iguana is scared of him, I would imagine so. This is Castro; he's a Cuban rock iguana. And you see Castro, who is now 15 years old, has a much different temperament than our green iguana friend. A 15 year old iguana would not be as tolerant to be touched in this nature. Castro is not trying to whip me with his tail, Castro is not trying to run away. He is a really sure of himself type of lizard who makes a wonderful pet or companion. We choose not to keep an animal this big in a cage, unless you build something custom for him. They freely can roam a home, and know where to do their business. They're straight herbivores; they love their veggies and fruits, and they really are an incredible companion and pet. We take him to the park and walk him like a dog all the time. So, if you're going to go for an iguana, think twice about the green types. There are some dessert species that are great, but the rock iguanas truly rock. Here's the Cuban iguana, Castro.

Owning a pet reptile or amphibian is not as difficult as you might think. However, Jungle Bob says a chameleon is one of the exceptions. In this video, he explains why. Chameleons are sought-after pets and I really have to interview people long and hard to make sure they know what they're getting into. Because of all the animals in the pet world, chameleons are certainly the hardest to stay alive. By nature, they're extremely skittish. You see this one doesn't want to be out in the limelight here he doesn't like the bright lights that are on him. He wants to be in a tree and he wants to hide. But that's not possible today, so he'll be okay for a few minutes. As a keeper, he needs a couple of things to keep him alive. First, they really don't do well in a glass enclosure. Chameleons like airflow so a screen is much better for them. A screened enclosure where the air can flow through is great. They can also grab on to the screen with their nails and climb all around, it which they can't do with glass. Worse than that, though, in order to keep them happy is they will need a water source to drink from and that is not a bowl. Chameleons like this do not drink from standing water. They drink drips. When it rains they drink as much water as they can. But the only other water they get is basically dew in the morning that will form on the leaves and will start to drip off of it. And we will often see them licking the leaves inside their enclosures to get their moisture. If we forgot to mist them and forget to put that moisture on, put a bowl of water and go away for three days, they will die of thirst. They do not know enough to go down to a standing body of water and take a drink. Some species yes, Veiled chameleons, no. So, you really have to be a diligent keeper and keep your animal watered as best as possible. There are a number of devices on the market to do that automatically. But there's nothing like an old plant Mister that you use with your hand to make sure your lizard is drinking every day. As they get to know you they will take it right out of the end of the bottle in order to get their much needed water source. Chameleons are really an advanced lizard keepers pet. You cannot be a beginner and keep a chameleon happy. They have very fragile legs and arms. They need to be totally camouflaged and have places to hide inside or they become very short-lived. Even in the best of conditions chameleons are not long-lived creatures. Some only a couple of years. Some, five, six, seven years is about as much as you're going to get as chameleon pet. So, a wonderful, "Wow, what is that?" type of animal, but extremely fragile and you have to think twice whether or not you want to buy a chameleon. Of all the chameleon species veiled chameleons are absolutely the most hearty. The males actually this beautiful crest on top of their hand. And they can actually be taught to eat out of your hand by holding the food item here. They'll shoot it out of your hand. He's a little bit too nervous to do it today, but he'll eat it right out of your hand and that's a wonderful thing to observe in captivity. So there's the veiled chameleon, one of the best chameleons on the market.

Here’s how to get out. Step 1: Calm down Stem panic by reminding yourself that your car will usually float for a minute or two before it begins to sink. Use this time to unfasten your seat belt, open the driver-side window or a sunroof, and unlock the doors. Tip As long as you keep your keys in the ignition, the electrical system likely will work until the car is submerged enough for the system to short out. Step 2: Break the window If you were unable to open your side window, break it with your elbow, heels, or -- better still -- anything pointy you have on hand, like a pen or screwdriver. Aim for the center of the window. Don’t bother with the windshield; it's made to be unbreakable. Tip Hardware stores sell tools specifically designed to break car windows in an emergency. Step 3: Undress If the car is sinking slowly, take off your shoes. If you’re wearing jeans and you have time, remove those as well. Both weigh you down, making swimming to the surface more difficult. Step 4: Get out Climb out the window before the car becomes submerged, and swim to the surface. Tip Memorize the acronym POGO: Pop seat belt, Open the window, and Get Out. Step 5: Wait until car fills If you were unable to get out through the window, don’t panic! Let the car fill with water, knowing that once it does, the water pressure inside and out will be equalized, allowing you to open the door and escape. Tip Hang on to the door handle as the car fills with water so you don’t float and become disoriented if the car flips. Step 6: Open the door When the water reaches your chin, take a deep breath and hold it. Then open the door and swim out headfirst. If you’re not sure which way is up, look for bubbles and swim in the direction in which they’re rising. Did You Know? Speaker 2: Well, this is a confusing question because so many pet stores sell shampoo for animals. People will buy the shampoo because it looks so cute or if there's a picture of a rabbit on the front of the bottle so that must mean that rabbits need to be bathed. In fact, rabbits don't need to be bathed they are prodigious self groomers and they keep themselves immaculately clean. But every once in a while for a variety of a reasons a rabbit will get a really poopy butt and maybe because he's sick because he's having a digestive problem. It maybe because he's arthritic and he can't lean over to clean himself very well. Speaker 1: Overweight? Speaker 2: He's overweight. Yea, that's another reason why they can't lean over as well as before. And they'll get an accumulation on their butt and it's kind of a poopy butt that dries on it's butt and then you have give him what's called a butt bath. And what I use for a butt bath. Speaker 1: Because you don't want to pick it off with your fingers because you can pull the skin away Speaker 2: Skin off with him. Exactly. It's very painful for the rabbit. So what you want to do is get a small litter box like this, put a towel in the bottom of it, put a couple of inches of water in it, tepid water, warm water, not hot just warm, and then you're going to put your bunny in the water and we're going to do this as a dry bath, He doesn't need a butt bath so we're just going to do this as if he did. He knows he doesn't need a bath so he's stepping out so he's going to stay in this and when he's in you can pick him up like this. Just hold is front quarters out to keep him dry and you can use your hand to swish water all around his butt. Most rabbits are very comfortable doing this. You can keep swishing water around his butt and you'll be loosening up the dry poop. Speaker 1: So they're not sitting in water? Speaker 2: Just the butt. That's right. Just enough to cover the butt. Towel is to give him traction and enough water to cover the butt and the bottom feet. And that's it. Speaker 1: No soap? Speaker 2: You don't need soap. Some people use shampoo or pet shampoo. You don't need that. Just warm water is fine. And you use your finger nails and pick the stuff off, once its moist you'll be able to get it off easily. And then you take the bunny out onto a towel which we'll do here and most people like to use a hair dryer. It's a tedious process. Speaker 1: We did that one time. Speaker 2: With Dusty? Speaker 1: No, with the crazy lady. Speaker 2: Oh that's right I remember that house call that we did. We did a house call. Speaker 1: That's another video. Speaker 2:Yea. That's a whole other video. Speaker 1: Annette. Annette. Speaker 2: You're going to put the rabbit with his butt on the towel like this and you dry him as best you can. I like to also have a paper towel here because it's even more absorbent. And you just keep pressing the paper towel against its butt. And that will get him very very dry as dry as you can get without a hair dryer and then use a hair dryer set on low the lowest heat not on cold but the lowest heat and blow dry him until his butt is dry. You don't want any skin chaffing because it's moist. So that's how you give your bunny a butt bath. It's pretty easy and the bunny really appreciates it. You can tell that they like being clean. Usually as soon as their out of the bath they'll do their face and their ears and everything. Speaker 1: Oh. Okay. Speaker 2: So yea, it's not a hard thing to do. It's getting them dry is the trick. So get them as dry as you can and you'll protect their skin that way. Butt baths are fun!

Watch more First Aid videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/164491-How-to-Perform-the-Heimlich-Maneuver-Abdominal-Thrusts Abdominal thrusts—also known as the Heimlich maneuver—can be used to expel a foreign object lodged in a choking victim's windpipe. Warning Never practice the Heimlich maneuver on an infant under a year old or on a person who is not choking. You could cause serious injury. Step 1: Confirm choking Confirm the victim is choking. If they are coughing, they are not choking – yet – so encourage them to continue. Signs of choking include the universal hand sign of clutching one's hands to the throat; the inability to cough or speak; labored or noisy breathing; bluish skin, lips, and nails; and loss of consciousness. Tip Don't slap a coughing person on the back – it doesn't help and can make them start to choke. Step 2: Call 911 Once you determine the person is choking, act quickly but calmly. First, send someone to call 911. Step 3: Help the victim stand Help the victim stand, if they're not already on their feet, and stand behind them with your chest to their back. Step 4: Wrap your arms around the victim Wrap your arms around the victim's torso, making a fist with your dominant hand, and center it against the victim's upper abdomen, thumb inward, above the navel and below the rib cage. With your other hand, cover your fist for support. Tip If you cannot reach your arms around their abdomen or if the victim is pregnant, compress their chest between the breasts at the breastbone. Make firm, backward thrusts. Step 5: Thrust inward and upward Quickly thrust inward and slightly upward with your fist, as if you're trying to lift the victim off their feet, causing air to rush out of their lungs. Tip Don't squeeze the rib cage as you thrust upward. Otherwise you could break a bone. Step 6: Repeat Repeat the thrusts until the object dislodges, or the victim loses consciousness. Step 7: Wait for medical help If the object does not come free and the victim loses consciousness, proceed with CPR until EMTs arrive. Step 8: Save yourself To perform the Heimlich maneuver on yourself, lean your upper abdomen over a hard horizontal surface (such as a railing or the back of a chair) and use it to deliver strong, upward thrusts. A few, this one is called a Jersey Wally, this one is a Rex the grey one, this one is a Flemish Giant, this one is a New Zealand White and we have here a little buddy called a Lion Head and next to him is a Netherlands Dwarf. We actually DE-emphasize breeds when people are adopting bunnies we always tell them no matter how beautiful the rabbit, no matter how much you love the breed, the thing to pay attention to really is the personality. And I told Amy once that is kind of like when you are dating a guy that is just really gorgeous and you find out that the personality isn't there, you don't care about the looks after a while it is very, very interesting. I had somebody come into my apartment one time to adopt only a Lap rabbit. The Lap rabbits are the ones that have the down ears. We don't have a Lap rabbit here but they have the ears that go down like a Cocker Spaniels and this lady came in and she said she only wanted consider a Lap and I had a couple of Laps and she loved one of them and started righting the adoption papers to take him home. But every time she went by this other rabbits cage the rabbit would stick his head out and look at her and try to make eye contact with her and after a couple of minutes she said you know Mary I think this rabbits trying to tell me something . So I said I think he is too , why don't you put down the Lap ear rabbit and go over and talk to that rabbit. And long story short she did and ended up adopting that second rabbit and the rabbit was definitely reaching out to her. It wasn't a breed she was interested in but the personality was so out going and so affectionate and she just loved him to pieces. So, we always tell people look at the different breeds for sure, we get all breeds into shelters all the time but go by the personality. It is much more Speaker 2: But normally you wouldn't put a bunch of rabbits together like this because they always don't get along, right? Speaker 1: Thanks for saying that, this is a challenge to have all these rabbits together on the same table . We have male, male, next to each other female, female next to each other that's not an easy thing to do in the rabbit world. Were really careful about putting rabbits together and we're just doing this to give an idea of different breeds. We want to make sure that we stay safe here. Speaker 2: Wow. Speaker 1: We are keeping the rabbits from each other for that reason. Speaker 2: Look at all the different coats. Speaker 1: Look at all the hair flying in the air from all these different coats. Speaker 2: Rabbit breeds.

I'm going to go over five basic fundamentals that you should know for indoor rock climbing. One of the first fundamentals is just general body awareness and being able to identify your center of gravity. You want to use that to be able to keep your weight in balance, which would be the second fundamental, learning how to balance and shift your weight. And once you've identified that center of gravity, keeping that weight over your feet, so you're going to be pushing with your legs, rather than pulling with your arms, which brings us to the next fundamental, of climbing with straight arms. Using this position is much more beneficial as far as the efficiency of your movement goes. Right now, with my arms straight, I'm not taking any energy to pull myself in. You can see my left leg is bent here, so as I initiate this movement up, I'll be pushing rather than pulling. That allows for much more efficient motion. We also have two other basic fundamental techniques, known as edging and flagging. Edging is when you're using your climbing shoes to basically be edging on a hold. So, I can use both the inside edge and the outside edge of my climbing shoes. Both should be applied frequently to change your body position and help you move in balance. For example, I can use the outside edge of my right foot here to keep my right hip close to the wall, so that as I move up, that center of gravity is going to stay over my let, allowing me to push, rather than pull. I've also grabbed that next hold with a straight arm, rather than with a bent arm, saving me a little bit of energy. Flagging is a technique that's fundamental, once again, for keeping your balance. Flagging comes in handy when all of the holds are on the same side of your body. Right now, to stay in balance, it'd be a little tricky for me to move without having my body kind of swing around a little bit, which is a big waste of energy. So, with one foot up, with my right hand and my right foot inline, I can flag my left foot to help keep that center of gravity better aligned. What that would look like while moving, would be either flagging in this direction to keep that center of gravity centered over my foot, or if I switch hands and feet, I can flag in the other direction to highlight the same principle. All right, so that was five fundamentals for rock climbing indoors.

Step 1: Prepare a bed Prepare a delivery bed for your mother cat with a roomy cardboard box with a top. Cut a hole in the side big enough for the mother to come and go and line the bottom with newspapers. Then cover the box with an old blanket. Step 2: Find a quiet place Find a quiet, private, and warm spot for the bed that the mother is familiar with. The room should be equipped with food, water, and a litter box, as well as any favorite toys. Tip Introduce the mother to her new maternity bed well before she gives birth. This will ensure she doesn't give birth on your clothes. Step 3: Isolate the cat Keep your cat away from other animals in the late stages of her pregnancy -- mother cats can be aggressive. You also want her as relaxed as possible before and during birth. Step 4: Give her space Give the mother space when she goes into labor. You will be able to tell that she's in the first stages of labor because she may start pacing, make loud noises, and repeatedly attempt to use the litter box. She may retire to her bed if she's comfortable there. However, if she chooses another spot, do not try to move her. Step 5: Prepare supplies Prepare the supplies once the mother goes into labor. Gather gloves, warm water, clean towels, dental floss, and petroleum jelly. Cat labor can last up to 12 hours, so make sure you have plenty of everything. Step 6: Don't panic Do not panic if your mother cat makes loud noises while giving birth to the first kitten. Kittens are usually born between 30 and 40 minutes apart. Watch from afar if everything looks stable. Tip If the mother does not break the amniotic sac, tear it using a clean towel; do not use a sharp object. The sac needs to be broken in order for the kittens to breathe. Step 7: Assist with placenta and umbilical Assist cleaning the placenta from the kittens' faces only if the mother does not do so herself. Use a clean towel and wipe the membrane off of the cat, going against the direction of the hair growth with your gloved hands. If the mother doesn't bite entirely through the umbilical cord, tie the floss around the cord an inch away from the kitten and cut on the mother's side of the tie. Tip Don't cut the umbilical cord too close to the kitten, and don't let the mother bite it off too close to the kitten. This can cause infection. Step 8: Use petroleum jelly Use the petroleum jelly on the kitten's passage if the mother has been straining for an hour with no kitten emerging. If at any point before, during, or after the birth you notice strange behavior or have medical concerns, contact your vet immediately. Step 9: Let the mother be Let the mother care for her kittens from this point on. Nature ensures that she knows her new job. And if there are no medical concerns, sit back and enjoy watching those tiny creatures turn into playful wonders. Did You Know? There are an estimated 6 to 8 million homeless animals entering shelters in the U.S each year.

We have our fabric piece right here that we want to gather and the first thing we're going to do is go to our sewing machine and make sure that we're on a straight stitch. Then we're going to turn our stitch length up as high as it will go, on my machine it's a four; so we're going to use a large stitch length. Then we're going to take our fabric and, for this project, we're going to assume a 5/8 of an inch seam allowance. Knowing that we're using a 5/8 of an inch seam allowance, the first thing I'm going to do is sew a line at 1/4 of an inch seam allowance, just on the one-ply fabric. Before I start, I want to make sure that I have long thread tails going out the back because we're going to use these to gather the fabric, so I'm just going to lay those there. Then I'm going to put my fabric in the machine and, for the 1/4 of an inch seam allowance, I'm just going to use the edge of my presser foot and I'm going to sew all the way across. When you get to the end of your fabric, you want to pull your fabric out and keep these long thread tails. So I'm going to cut, just in the middle, so that I have a long tail on my fabric, and a long tail on my machine. I'm going to pull that to the back and now I'm going to sew another narrow seam, another 1/4 inch from the seam that I just sewed. If you add them together, 1/4 and 1/4, you would want the raw edge of your fabric aligned on the 1/2-inch seam marker on your seam guide. I'm going to put my fabric in and then I'm going to sew all the way down again. We're going to do the same thing we did already. We're going to put long thread tails and clip our project off. Now we are ready to gather our fabric. The first thing you should do is separate your top needle thread from your bobbin thread. Then you should tie off one set, so I'm going to tie this set off, which is on top, and you can just make a knot, just a quick overhand knot. Then I'm going to pull it tight down on the fabric. Then, since we have a lot of threads here, I'm just going to clip this because I don't have to worry about that, I don't want it to get in my way. So we pulled the top here and tied it off so we're going to do the same on the opposite end. I'm going to take the top threads and I'm going to tie them off, just like I did on the other side. Then I'm going to clip those threads. Great! So now I can go ahead and gather my fabric. To do that, I'm going to work from the left and then from the right, gathering fabric towards the middle. All I'm going to do is hold these tails and pull my fabric in towards the center to make these gathers. Then you can do it from the opposite side as well to make your gathers. Now if this were going into something, say this was going to be a skirt, you would definitely want to set this down and spread these gathers out evenly. You can see here, they are really tightly gathered and here it's kind of a little loose so you take your tails and hang on and just kind of spread them out; that made it a lot better. Then you can balance it out from the opposite side as well, just kind of move things along to get them nice and balanced. Once you have your fabric gathered and it's in the place you want, you can now tie your other threads off so that they won't move. You want to try and keep your knots close to the edge so that this won't come undone. Then you'll take your fabric, we'll make a little waistband. Say this is the waistband and this is our skirt piece, you're going to pin the gathered fabric to the straight portion. Then you'll take this to the sewing machine and we're going to sew our 5/8 of an inch seam allowance. From our raw edge to our gather stitch here, we have 1/2-inch, so we're going to be to the left of all of our gather stitches. We'll take this back to the sewing machine and line it up with our 5/8 and sew across our gathers. As you come up to all the gathering, I like to just kind of pull things down straight before I sew over them, make sure everything is laying really nicely. We have a lot of bunching here so we're just going to pull everything down, make sure it's well balanced and then if something comes a little undone, that's okay. You have your threads tied so you can just grab it and pull it a little bit to g

Watch more Hurricanes & Storms videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/471526-How-to-Survive-a-Hurricane Don't wait until a storm is heading your way! Survive a hurricane with these safety precautions. Step 1: Plan ahead Plan ahead. Know the location of local shelters and how you'll evacuate if you don't have a car. If you have family members with special medical needs, ask local officials if there's a registry so they get help in the event of power outages. Pick a place for family members to meet in case you become separated, and designate an out-of-town friend as the person everyone calls to report that they're safe. Get flood insurance if you don't already have it. Tip Make sure you know how to shut off electricity, gas, and water in case you're instructed to do so. Step 2: Be prepared Have the following supplies on hand at the start of hurricane season: a 3-day supply of water that provides 1 gallon per person per day; a 3-day supply of non-perishable food that doesn't require cooking; a flashlight and extra batteries; a battery-powered radio that can receive broadcasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; a first-aid kit; and a 7-day supply of medications. Tip The Atlantic and Central Pacific hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30; the Eastern Pacific is from May 15 through November. Step 3: Get ready If a hurricane warning is issued -- meaning one is expected in the next 36 hours -- bring in anything that can be tossed around by the wind; close and board up all windows and doors with 5/8" marine plywood, unless you have hurricane shutters; clear rain gutters and downspouts; trim trees and shrubs; put your refrigerator and freezer on the coldest setting; and fill your car's gas tank in case you're ordered to evacuate. Step 4: Go to a safe place If you live on the first or 2nd floor of a high rise, make plans to take refuge with neighbors between floors 3 and 10 when the storm begins. Residents who live above the 10th floor should evacuate, as should mobile home dwellers and anyone living on a floodplain, near a river, or on an inland waterway. Step 5: Do last-minute preparations Shortly before the storm is expected to start, fill your bathtub with water so you have an extra supply on hand. Unplug small appliances and sensitive electronics, and turn off propane tanks. Step 6: Ride out the storm When the storm starts, stay away from windows and glass doors and avoid using the phone. Go to your home's lowest level and stay in an interior room, closet, or hallway. Have a mattress or pillow to protect your head. Monitor weather conditions on your radio and don't leave your safe place until local officials say it's okay to do so. Step 7: Avoid post-storm dangers If you lose electricity, keep circuit breakers turned off until power is restored, then check for frayed wires. If you see any, call the power company. Leave the house immediately if you smell gas. If you're returning home, don't enter your house if floodwaters remain around the building; you see loose power lines or structural damage; or you smell a gas leak. If you have any safety concerns at all, stay elsewhere until your home is checked by a building inspector or structural engineer. Did You Know? 2/3 of the hurricanes that hit land in the United States between 1981 and 2011 struck the Gulf Coast. The other third hit the Atlantic Coast.

Well, they're wrong. If you know what motivates your cat, you can train it. Now, training with Fria today is going to be a little difficult because she's pretty snooty, but I'm just going to see if she has a reaction to her favorite treat bag. That can be a great place to start for coming when called. Many cats know the sound of their treat bag and get excited right off the bat when they hear it. So, let's just see if she wakes up. Oh, suddenly we're interested. Well, it's not an ideal time to practice coming when called. It is a good time to reinforce the association that hearing the treat bag means good things. Now, many cat owners already know about the treat bag effect, but what they don't know is that it's really easy to capitalize on it to teach your cat to come when called. The way to do that is to pair your cat's name with a treat. The great news is since your cat knows the sound of a treat bag or a treat canister, you can build on an already strong association. So, in this case, you might say your cat's name and then give them a treat. So, I'll go like this. Fria and then I crinkle the bag which means a treat is coming and then I give her one. Now first, when you're starting this you want to start right by your cat because they don't really know what you're trying to do. Start at a place where cat and you are most likely to be successful. So, rinse and repeat. Fria, crinkle, crinkle and then give a treat. Now, when you're ready to start working on coming when called you can begin working from a distance. I'm not going to do this with Fria today because she might walk right off the table if she happened to get up, but what you would do is the same type of behavior. Say the cat's name, crinkle the bag and as soon as they come over give a treat. Eventually, the name that you give your cat for this exercise will become as powerful as the treat bag and you'll see that when you give the sound of your cat's name that your cat comes running for that treat. Over time you can stop using food and use scratches or other positive attention that your cat enjoys as a reinforcer. Just remember that it's not normal for cats to come when called in the wild, so it's definitely a behavior that's worth paying for. That's how you teach your cat to come when called.

It boils down to puppies being just young and energetic and not having an outlet for it. Especially before they have had all their vaccines and can go outside and play with dogs and explore their environment, they have a tendency to get really kind of antsy, and they'll go to sleep. They sleep half the day if you're at work. Then you come home. They play with you for a few hours, and then you expect them to go back to sleep and sleep through the night. It's very difficult for them. Making sure that they have a lot of stimulation throughout the day and a lot of exercise before bed. There are ways to exercise your dog even if you can't leave the house, if the puppy's too young to go outside. Find activities. If you teach them to come when called, then you can practice back and forth through the house with other family members so the dog is running from the living room to the bedroom and back. You can also do training circuits with the dog, where it's come, sit, stay, down, stay. Obviously this requires some basic training, but it's a great way to stimulate the dog's brain mentally and also get the dog moving and physically active. Replacing all meals, instead of giving the dog it's meals out of a dog dish, a traditional dog food bowl, I would give it frozen inside hollow bleached bones or Kongs or other stuff-able teething toys that they sell for dogs, things like Kongs, hollow bones, and the like. Now things like that are going to keep the dogs mentally and physically active even at times that they would normally be sleeping, like these guys. But if you are expecting the dog to sleep through the night, you have to make sure that you're giving the dog plenty of stimulation and activity. The dog should be comfortable in the bed and its crate. And sometimes covering the crate up so that it minimizes noise and light so that the dog has a little den will sometimes help the dog to sleep through the night a little bit more soundly. Also, if you're dog's getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, you might want to limit water before bed. You could talk to your vet. Certain breeds have different requirements, but for the most part if the dog is loaded full of water and then you're putting a dog with a full bladder or a full bowel in bed, it's going to wake up in the night to use the bathroom. So be sure that you have the dog going to sleep with an empty bladder, who's tired and fulfilled from its busy day. And that would be some advice on how to keep your puppy from crying at night.

And handling the ball with speed is good because it makes it more difficult for the defender to steal the ball from you. So right now we'll walk through a couple of quick drills that we use on a regular basis that help us to handle the ball faster. First ting we want to do is work on a particular drill and then you want to try to go for speed in it. Right now we have one of our coaches, Jerry, who's gonna time us on these particular drills. Right now Sammy will go for 15 seconds and what'll we'll do right now is he's gonna do his first set for 15 seconds and then we'll have him do a second set to see if he can increase his speed as far ball handling. So right now, Sammy will get nice and low. He's gonna cross over and go behind his back. Every time the ball gets to his right hand, he's gonna count the rep. So I'll count for him right now. Jerry when you tell me to go, we'll go. Jerry: Ready, go! Jason: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Alright. So Sammy did eight in 15 seconds. So now he has a goal where every time he works out he has a point of emphasis in the base as far as trying to exceed his time. Now I'll try to do something a little bit more advanced with the advanced ball handlers. And remember, everything that we do I'm gonna try to do with my eyes closed and head up. Jerry'll give me 30 seconds on this. Jerry: Ready, go! Jason: One, two, three, four, five, I lose it, I come right back. Eyes closed, chin up. Six. Jerry: Stop. Jason: Alright? So I got to about six and a half. So right now we'll have Sammy finish up to see if he can do it any faster than he did his first set. So again Sammy will have his eyes closed, chin up. He'll get low. Eight is his number to beat. 15 seconds. Jerry: Ready, go! Jason: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Jerry: Stop. Jason: Alright. So you see? Now, Sammy worked on his ball handling. He was able to get ten. Those are the types of drills that you can do on a regular basis in order to be come a faster ball handler.

It's not so easy however to introduce rabbits and a lot of people have disastrous results and they call us after the fact instead of asking for advice beforehand and what happens is, they go to the pet store and they say, you know, "I have a female rabbit and I want to get a friend for the rabbit" and the pet store will say "Well, put the rabbit with another female, that way you won't have litters or whatever" and they sell the person what's supposed to be a female, it ends up being a male, the people have a litter a month later, so that's one possible ending. Another possible ending is they give them another female and the rabbits just don't get along and the person has no idea how to change this situation. So what we tell people when they want to introduce their rabbit to a friend is first of all, both rabbits need to be spayed and neutered so that they cannot reproduce and so that the hormones that drive them to reproduce will not be affecting their behavior when they're together. And what we do when we're introducing rabbits is house them side by side for a couple of weeks. In side by side pens with just enough air in between that they can't touch each other through the pens. And then we slowly introduce them and we do it by putting them in a constricted area and we wear shoes on our hands, tennis shoes on our hands. And we keep the rabbits from any kind of aggressive behavior and the minute they show any sign of aggression we plunge our hands down with the shoes on them to separate the rabbits. That way we don't get bitten, the rabbits don't get hurt, it's very easy. This is a bonded pair here now. These rabbits have been living together for a couple of years. This is a little Lion Head and this is a little Netherlands Dwarf. They're good buddies, bonded rabbits will huddle together, they'll eat together, they often do something called mirroring behavior where one rabbit will sit up and shake his hands and start to groom himself and the other rabbit will then sit up and shake his little paws and start to groom himself. Speaker 1: Copy cats. Speaker 2: Copy cats, copy rabbits, copy buns. And you'll see that in a bonded pair. It's really fun to have a bonded pair because you see behaviors that you don't see with single rabbits. One thing that really interests me is that even in the heat of the summer, these rabbits will lie together body to body, tight as can be when it's 90 degrees outside, they'll push their little bodies against one another in that heat and it doesn't bother them at all. They would much rather have the company of a bunny... Speaker 1: Oh, really? Speaker 2: ...than the coolness of separation. Yeah, it's really very touching to watch, actually. Speaker 1: You do have to consider that it's double the cost, right? I mean, it's... Speaker 2: It is double the cost. It's not double the space. Speaker 1: No, but the veterinary, I mean if you take them to the vet. Speaker 2: That's right. That's right. Speaker 1: The carriers, it's just more, but... Speaker 2: Well, not more carriers. If you take them to the vet you should be able to take them in one carrier. Speaker 1: Okay. Speaker 2: But the vet bills, the vet bills for sure, that's a big consideration. Speaker 1: Yeah, right. Speaker 2: If one gets sick, they're in contact with the other one, the other one is likely to get sick too, you may end up with two vet bills. So you do have to pay attention. Speaker 1: Double trouble, that's what I way. Double trouble. Speaker 2: On the other hand, when they have companionship of their own species, they're more relaxed an

Watch more Public Speaking Training videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/505059-How-to-Speak-in-Front-of-a-Big-Crowd-Public-Speaking How do you speak in front of a big crowd? You're in front of five hundred, or a thousand, or three thousand people. How do you do it? Here's the secret: it's no different than speaking to one person. Now, I understand it feels different. It feels scary. But here's the secret great speakers have. It doesn't matter if you love Ronald Reagan as a speaker, or Bill Clinton, or Tony Blair. All different speakers, different styles, different politics, but here's one thing they have in common. When they're speaking or were speaking to ten thousand people, or speaking to two people, they sounded exactly the same. So, here's the big secret when it comes to talking to large audiences: don't change yourself. Because most of us, when we're speaking to one friend or two buddies at lunch, we're animated. We're engaging, we're telling stories, and we're giving examples. Our hands are moving. Our face is moving. We get in front of a large audience, and all the things we do that worked for us, all the things that were interesting that made us easy to listen to, we take that, we ball it up, and we throw it in the trash can. And we put on this fake persona, my fellow delegates it's an honor to be here today. We become stiff and we become wooden. Our voice goes flat. We tense up. We grab a lectern. All these things we do because we're scared. The problem is, as much as I love crutches, these crutches don't prop us up. They bring us down. They make us worse. So, you've got to simply tell yourself you're talking to one person. You've got to use that tone of voice. Because these days if you're speaking to a large room of people chances are you're going to have a microphone, so you don't have to speak like this because that's really annoying. You speak in a conversational tone of voice. Here's the other trick: your eye contact. What a lot of people do is they're like this the whole time. They may be moving, but they have this glazed look in their eye. You don't want to do that. Or, they just zoom in here, zoom in here, and here. It's too mechanical. What you want to do is just look at one spot. Ideally, if you can see people, look at one person for a full thought. That's only five seconds or so. Go to another person in a different part of the audience. Pretend you're having a one on one conversation with that person for a full thought. And mix it up. That will make it more relaxing for you. You'll sound like you're talking to one person. And it'll keep your head from bouncing around and looking nervous and scared. The other final tip is, it's one of those things, the more you do it the easier it gets. Seek out opportunities to speak in front of large groups. Don't be one of these people that says, well I could speak to one person, or I can speak to two people, or I can speak sitting in a boardroom, but I'm not a public speaker so I can't. Baloney. If you've ever had one interesting conversation with one person in your entire life you already have all the skills you need to be a great public speaker in front of ten thousand people.

Watch more Disaster Survival & Worst-Case Scenarios videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/400092-How-to-Survive-a-Zombie-Attack Army of zombies on the loose? Check out these simple steps to help you survive an encounter with the undead. Step 1: Know your enemy Make sure you're facing an attack from actual zombies. Look for a stiff gait caused by rigor mortis, open wounds from decomposing flesh, and a hunger for human flesh. Step 2: Cover up Cover up to prevent potential zombie bites from turning you into one of them. Wear a mask with holes only for the eyes and mouth, long sleeves, gloves, close-toe shoes, and long pants tucked into your socks. You may look like a fashion victim, but you won't be a zombie victim. Step 3: Amass weapons Find a weapon to use in case you encounter a zombie. Grab a blunt object capable of bashing in undead heads or something to pierce the zombies' skulls -- even reanimated corpses can't survive severe brain injuries. Tip Don't try to reason with zombies -- their brain functions are limited to walking, moaning, and feasting on the living. Step 4: Head indoors Find a secure place to hide. Make sure it's located as far as possible from any graveyards and stocked with canned goods, bottled water, and projectile-firing weapons. Barricade the doors and windows to ensure your survival. Step 5: Fight back Hide out long enough to overcome your fear; then, attack back! Use human-scented objects to lure the zombies to low-lying areas; once they're contained, blast their brains from afar. Continue trapping and killing until all the zombies are dead, and it's eerily quiet enough for you to hear your still-beating heart. Did You Know? A traditional zombie cocktail is made with sugar, fruit juice, and 4 kinds of rum.

Victor: And I'm Victor Sho. LaShonna: And today we are going to learn how to Dougie. So we're going to teach you how to Dougie. This is a very popular dance that everyone's doing nowadays. And it's simple but it's just getting into the groove of it. I's pretty much a two step, with an up and down motion adding your arms. So let's just start with a two step. And the we're going to add on another layer, and then another layer, until you're doing the Dougie. You ready? So we're going to start stepping. Out together. Out together. Out together. Out together. If you're doing that you're good. From here we're going to add an up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, if you're doing that you're really doing good. Now what we're going to do here is add a head motion that goes with it. So every time you go to the side you go up and over with it. Think of pointing your head, in that direction. Up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down. Now we're going to add a different rhythm, single, single, double. And single, single, double, with the feet, we go single, single, double, and single, single, double. That's an up, down, up, down, up, down, double time. Up, down, up, down, up, down, double time. If you have this rhythm that's the basics of the Dougie. Now we're going to add some arms to it. So when you're doing the arms for the Dougie, when you step out the opposite arm is going to roll in. Up, down, up, down, up, down. Up, down, up, down, up, down. Make sure that your body's going up and down. Now from here let's add our single, single, double. Here we go, we have single, single, double. And single, single, double. And single, single, double. And single, single, double. And you can Dougie with a partner, and make it even more fun. Here we go. Single, single, double. And single, single, double. Single, single, double. And single, single, double... And that's the Dougie.

I'm going to talk to you today about the three principles to opening strategy. So when we get to the game we're always like, 'Uh, what do I do? There's so many pieces. I don't know how to start." Well I'm going to give you three steps that are going to help you create a strong, confident opening. First thing that we need to understand is these four center squares. These are considered a super square because this is where the center of the board is, the control center. For example, if I have my knight in the center of the board, my knight can control up to eight different squares, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. We can see that this is a very strong place for my knight. If I have my knight on the side of the board it can only control up to four squares, 1, 2, 3, 4. Therefore, my knight is stronger in the center whereas most pieces are stronger in the center of the board. So at the beginning of the game you want to think about center control. First thing we can try and do is get our pawns into the center. Very important to try to get our pawns to control the center. The next important step that we want to focus on is piece development. Now I like to think about my pieces as they are working for me. I want to give my pieces a job. If they're sitting back here they're not happy and they're not doing anything. So my next step is to bring my pieces out and have them working for me. Usually we bring out the knights before the bishops. So I can bring my knight to F-3 and my other knight to C-3 and then I'm bringing them towards the center. Notice how I did not bring my knight to H-3, that would not be a good choice. Towards the center. Next, I want to bring my bishops out, again towards the center controlling the center squares. The next step that we always want to consider is king safety, very important. I like to consider the king like a baby. The reason I consider the king a baby is because we always want to protect our babies just like we always want to protect our king. Therefore, the best way to protect your king at the beginning of the game is to castle. Now we have two places, two ways that we can castle. You can either castle on the king's side or on the queen's side. Right away I can see that I can castle on the king's side. To castle I move my king two spaces and then bring my rook to the other side and now my king is stuck behind a little fortress or, to keep with the theme of a baby, a crib and it is protected and safe. Just to review, the three important principles are controlling the center, piece development, and king safety. Those are the three things that we can do at the beginning of the game to go into the middle game confidently.

This is the part we know I love the most, and these are the tricks. Alright? I'm going to show you the proper way to spin a ball on your finger. Okay? Now, in order to spin a ball on your finger, the first thing you're going to need are some fingers. Alright? Now, normally I go with my strong hand, which for me is my right hand, and I want to use my pointing finger. Alright? Now, I take my pointing finger, and the object here is to balance the ball on my finger. All right, balance the ball on my finger. Now, how are we going to do that? Alright? Now science has this thing, you know you can explain it scientifically, but the first thing you want to do is, you want to make sure you get a nice spin on the ball. So first thing you've got to practice is how to spin the ball. Watch me. All I want to do is practice getting a nice spin on the ball. Now, as you become better, you want to try and get your finger underneath the ball. Try to time it to get your finger underneath the ball. Get a nice spin underneath the ball. Now, if your spin is weak, you're not going to be able to balance that ball on your finger. So the first thing you've got to do, practice getting the spin on the ball, on your finger. Now for me, I like to use one hand. Get a nice spin. Put the ball on my finger. Some people, they use two hands. Get a nice spin. Put the ball on their finger. So you want to make sure, like I said, work on your spin, then after that it's all about balance, balance, balance. And that is how you spin the ball on your finger.

And people want to talk about the various positions you can have, you can choose when you play the game of soccer. And we're basically have the goal keeper. We have the defenders, we have the midfielders and we have the strikers. The goal keeper of course is the first responsibility is to assure that the strikers won't get the ball behind the goal line and actually score. On the second thought the goal keeper would be the first player to initiate the game, to start the game from the back of the defense. The next line is the line of defenders. Again, even more, the responsibility of the defenders would be to mark up the strikers, close gap some defense and prevent the opposition from goal scoring. The next line would be the midfielders. The midfielders are the once who organize the game. They have defense responsibilities but also offense responsibilities. And they organize the game, they make sure that they close the gap in defense, turn around quickly, open the game to the front to the strikers, get the strikers in goal scoring positions and move up themselves or maybe even choose to finish themselves and try to score. The last one, the most front on the field would be the strikers or the forwards. Of course the idea is to get the ball as quickly as possible into the goal, into the net of the opposition. As a defender you have the whole game in front of you. You have more time usually to open the game. You have more time when you have possession of the ball. You want to open it mindfully to the side not to the center. The midfielders are always moving, always trying to open up, giving opportunities, passing options as well to strikers and defenders. The strikers on the other hand usually have the defender in the back where there's a different kind of play. The want to drop the ball maybe to the midfielder to open up the game on the side but then quickly move into goal scoring position themselves and finish. That's the basic idea of soccer positions and I think it's a good way to start.

It's the best way to gain experience and confidence. Tip Don't be bashful about re-auditioning for a show that turned you down; people are sometimes hired the second or even third time around. Step 2: Bring a headshot Bring a professional headshot that looks like you in daily life, as opposed to a glammed-up version. Directors and producers don't like it when actors look nothing like their photo. Step 3: Don't go in costume Wear clothes that suggest you have an understanding of the show so the director can envision you in the part. But don't show up in full costume. Tip If it's exclusively a dance audition, just wear your dance clothes. Step 4: Pick the right song If you're auditioning for a musical, pick audition songs that reflect the period or genre of the show – not the show itself. You can prepare a few from the actual show, but only sing them if you're asked to. Sing just 32 bars of a song unless otherwise specified. Tip Have your sheet music organized for the pianist: Mark where the music should start and end, and put it in the right key. Step 5: Rehearse your scene If you're auditioning for a drama, rehearse the "sides" – a few pages from the script that you are provided with in advance of the audition. Bring the pages to the auditioning venue; it's common to hold them while you perform. Step 6: Jump right in At the audition, greet the people judging you and then begin your performance; don't ask them for direction. If you make a mistake, keep going, or ask if you may start again. No one is looking for or expecting perfection. Step 7: Go with the flow If the director asks you to try something different, do it without argument, no matter how terrified or ill-equipped you feel. They are checking to see how well you take direction and how easily you go with the flow. Step 8: Act confident Exude confidence, or at least fake it. After all, you're an actor! Did You Know? Actor Ben Vereen was so impressive at his audition for the play Pippin that the director changed the age of a character to give him the part.

Today we're talking about speed training drill for sprinters. There are a wide array of drills sprinters do, depending on their level of expertise and the events that they're running. But there are 3 basic ones that mostly every sprinter does. The high knee, the butt kick, and the major A. Running drills are basically designer to exaggerate certain portions of your running stride. So to maintaining proper form and that you’re getting the maximum amount of each step. The high knee is essentially exactly how it sounds. You run to in a slow progression, raise your knee up to a 90 degree angle in relation to your hip and the ground, and then bring it back down to alternate. There are different methods of doing it, some folks say each leg, sometimes you do it every other stride, there are a wide array of doing this particular drill but overall it will help you get your knee up for and get you up higher to increase your stride overall. The butt kick again, is exactly what it sounds like when your literally kicking yourself in the butt. As your slowly progressing down the track with your knee pointed to the floor, you want your heel to come as close to your behind as possible in quick succession. What this does is it helps exaggerate the motion of your leg coming back to its ready position from behind you. A lot of times you'll see sprinters and their biggest issue is their leg trails off behind them, it takes a long time for them to get their turnover back again. Lastly you have the major A which is an elongated skip designed for you to maximize your stride length while still making sure that your feet fall directly under your hip. Which is very, very important again? Over striding will have your foot land in front of you can actually slow your speed down and result I injury. And those are 3 speed training drills for sprinters.

Now I know that you said that they're skittish and they're afraid of quick actions and stuff, but I'm a hands on bunny. I give my rabbit massages everyday. So tell me what's the good kind of massage. They like their head and cheeks massaged right? Why is that? Mary Cotter: They do. Well, when rabbits groom each other. . . The way I learned rabbit massage is not from a human. I learned it from watching rabbits, the way they interact with each other. They will lie next to each other and reach over and they'll kind of mouth or pluck the hair right between the eyes. Look at this rabbit's eyes are closing. Amy: Yeah, they love it. Mary: Yeah, they really, really enjoy that. It feels like another rabbit. And around the base of the ears, they love to be massaged around the base of the ears. Amy: And they like the tips of their ears kissed. Mary: Yeah, it's as if you're licking their ears almost, which we do but we don't often confess to. But anyway, rabbits love to be touched around the ears and head very, very gently. Amy also does. . . Her rabbit is a senior rabbit, a 12 year old rabbit, so she has learned to help that rabbit's arthritis by giving really gentle massage all the way down the spine and her rabbit just melts when she does it. Amy: Yeah, you just kind of find the spine here and you just kind of. . . Well you taught me just to kind of rub the fingertips on one side of the spine, the other side of the spine. It really puts her just to sleep. She likes this area rubbed a little bit. She'll start licking the floor when I do that. Mary: She's licking the floor because your hand isn't available. That's the thing, you can a rabbit reflexively licking. Rabbits want to groom you back. Amy: Yeah, she does. Mary: So if you're massaging a rabbit and they're really enjoying it they'll start, they'll lick anything available. If your hand isn't available it could be the floor that they're licking. This one's really enjoying this too. Amy: Yeah, they just love it. Mary: And a lot of people are interested in T-touch, which is great to learn. Amy: What's T-touch mean? Mary: Tellington touch. It's a way of doing massage that involves small circular motions in particular body areas. Amy: Oh, right, right. Mary: And you could do that. Do you need to do it? No, you don't need to do it. You'll find ways with your own rabbit, especially with your own rabbit where you know their reactions very well, that they enjoy and that are comfortable for them. But if you want to go an additional step and learn T-touch that's great too. Amy: A little tugging on the ear. One thing you don't want to do, I don't know if this is about something else, but we'll probably do it with rabbit handling. You don't want to pick a rabbit. . . I've seen people try to grab around here and try to lift it. Mary: Absolutely not. Amy: But just you'll know if you're doing the right thing by their expression. I don't know about bellies. My rabbit likes the side of her, like right here, rubbed. Mary: Yeah, I want to show you about belly massages. Amy: Oh yeah, let's see that. Mary: One time we use belly massage, if a rabbit is having gastrointestinal pain, which can happen when they eat a weird combination of foods and vegetables and they get gas pains just like babies do, but they don't cry like babies. Instead, they kind of hunker down and they look like they're hurting. Amy: It's like they're trying to smash their belly on the floor. Mary: Yeah, they could do what's called belly pressing. They can just repeatedly push their belly against the floor. Amy: To try to work the bubble out. Mary: To try to get the gas out, yeah. And so one thing you can do is belly massage. I will show you with this bunny. She's never had belly massage before. So we'll take her out of this. Amy: Oh, she's going to be in heaven. Mary:

We're going to introduce one more design element though, and that is the draw through. It's an element that is ubiquitous to most designs. It's where at the end, where you pour a monk's head, and then just lift straight up on the pitcher, back off on your flow of the milk, and pour through the design to put a tail at the end of it. You'll see what I mean here in a minute. Okay, so here is the pour. Again, I'm just going to pour to raise the liquid in the cup, break the stream, pour right in the center. And this time at the end, I'm going to pick up and pour through the design. That forms our nice solid heart there.

Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 1: . . . and I brought some of my favorite, and I see you've brought some of your favorites. Speaker 2: Yes, I did. Speaker 1: And I brought my favorite toy at home, Bean, my personal little . . . Speaker 2: Bean, being such a cutie pie, Netherland Dwarf. Speaker 1: Netherland Dwarf, looks like a wild rabbit, but he's not, and we'll talk about that later. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 1: So what do you do for toys? Speaker 2: All right, this is something, well, first of all, my rabbit is obsessed with these little beachcomber straw hats, you just plop it on the floor and they'll chew it. Here's one that she's not quite finished with here, but sometimes it's just completely gone, and they just like to chew on it. Speaker 1: Will she go through the entire thing? Speaker 2: The entire thing, yeah. Speaker 1: So completely disappear. Speaker 2: But you want to make sure it's not treated, right? Speaker 1: Yeah, if you can, with any straw toys. Some imports have bug sprays on them, or other kinds of little chemicals that you might want to avoid, and it's best to try to find untreated ones. Although people have told me that they have bought the sprayed ones because of a regulation importing into the U.S., that they have to be sprayed with no ill-effects on the rabbits. I try to find untreated ones myself, just to be safe. Speaker 2: Okay. Now here's one that I like to make at home. What you need is you just need a toilet paper tube, a pair of scissors, and you're going to fringe the edges, because this gives them a little, what do you call it, like not resistance. Speaker 1: It gives them a little play, there's a little play in cardboard that way so it's not quite so stiff. Speaker 2: Right. Speaker 1: So that they can access what it's going to go into it a little more easily. I'm guessing you're going to stuff it the way we do. Speaker 2: Right, and then you kind of do the edges like this. See, this is fun, this is fun, and then you just fill it with your favorite hay, it can be a treat hay, you want to use like a herb hay. Speaker 1: This is Timothy Hay here, you don't have to use Timothy Hay, but any grass hay is a good alternative, Timothy is a grass hay. Speaker 2: A little dynamite stick, see? And then you just throw that around, and I mean hay will go all over your apartment, but, you know, if you love your rabbit, you don't really care, and then you just play. I mean, it's really a lot of fun, you want to play with that (?). Speaker 1: And you can use paper towel rolls too if you want it longer. Speaker 2: Yep, paper towels, right. That's the other thing . . . Speaker 1: We have here a slinky, which is great, a lot of rabbits love to grab the end of a slinky and toss it around. One thing you want to be really careful about, and this is a good rabbit to show it with, this size slinky and this size rabbit could be a bad combination, and that's why we're showing this. A smaller slinky is better for a smaller rabbit, because this size rabbit can get its head into this slinky. For many rabbits that won't matter, but some rabbits will panic when they get their head into a slinky, and they don't back out. So you want to be careful about the size, and make it appropriate to the size of the rabbit. Speaker 2: And what about metal versus just plastic ones? Speaker 1: I like plastic ones myself. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 1: I know some people have used metal ones, but I like plastic ones, they're much more visible to me on the floor so that I don't step on them when a rabbit's on the floor playing with them. Speaker 2: Also oatmeal, sometimes people take out the sides of the oatmeal, you know, canisters . . . Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 2: . . . and your rabbit can get stuck in that too, so. Speaker 1: Yeah, any cani

First you need to set up your left hand position the right way. Now we spoke about how to set up your left hand in the first position but now we need to talk about the left hand positioning in the third position because that's where I like to start learning vibrato. Your hand in third position is rested at the shoulder of the instrument. I like also doing the second finger on the A string to start because it's the most centered finger, the strongest finger. My finger is on the tip of the fat of the finger, there's a nice platform here and that's how you start. Then to vibrate what I usually do is, I put a little arrow on the finger going this way; that's the direction the finger has to go in. Back and up. So back and forth, back and forth. And as you can see the knuckle is going down and then it's going up. Going down and going up. So an exercise you can do is, that's an E on the A string, third position and then collapse it, back, back. Then you can do a slur. That's a two note slur. We can do four notes. Or you can do six. Then eight. And until you reach normal vibrato speed. You need to do that kind of vibrato for each one of your fingers. When you vibrate also another issue that you have to think about is your arm position. Now we spoke about correct arm position is you're flat as a pancake here, everything is straight, nothing's sticking out. When you vibrate you do need your wrist; the most popular vibrato is wrist vibrato. So then you would do, this does come out when you flatten the finger a little bit. So the wrist is moving back and forth when you're doing that finger-wrist vibrato. You need to do that with all of the fingers. The only exception is the pinky. The pinky fourth finger does not use as much wrist just because of the physicalness of the actual finger. You're still doing the same motion but it's just a little bit smaller. It's mainly the finger vibrato with just a little bit of wrist. That's how you would start to learn vibrato. Start slow. That's the vibrato.

Watch more How to Ace Job Interviews videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/180143-How-to-Ace-a-Telephone-Interview-and-Get-the-Job Step 1: Arrange a good time Arrange a time when you can speak freely without interruptions. That means no kids, dogs, or nosy co-workers anywhere nearby. Tip Keep your resume on hand in case an employer calls unannounced. Step 2: Give good phone Take the call on a landline; cell phones are vulnerable to poor reception and dropped calls. If you have call waiting, check with your phone service about suspending it during scheduled interviews. Whatever phone number you left as your contact, make sure its outgoing message is professional. Step 3: Prepare notes Unlike an in-person interview, you can have notes in front of you. Take advantage by setting up information cheat sheets about the company and your interviewer. Organize your notes in bulleted points so you don't sound rehearsed, and prepare answers to common questions, like, "Why do you want to work for our company?" Tip If your interviewer is in another part of the country, check their local news so you'll have some timely icebreakers ready. Step 4: Know your salary needs Know your salary requirements. Because phone interviews are sometimes a way to narrow an applicant pool, many prospective employers begin the dialogue with that discussion. Step 5: Rehearse Record a mock phone interview with a friend so you can correct any verbal tics like speaking too fast or saying "you know" too often. Step 6: Make silence golden Make sure you're far away from anything that could make a distracting sound, and be sure to mute your computer, cell phone, and PDA to avoid interruptions. Step 7: Give a performance Sit or stand up straight during the interview, wear something professional, and smile when you speak. You may feel silly, but speech experts say it will make you sound more alert and self-possessed. Tip Use a headset if you can. It will allow you to move around and make the gestures you normally make when you speak, which will help you come across as more relaxed and confident. Step 8: Shut up occasionally Don't be a blabbermouth. The interviewer is likely taking notes, so give them some time to do so. Step 9: Send a thank you End a phone interview the way you would end an in-person one – by sending a written note or e-mail thanking the interviewer for their time and reiterating your interest in the position. Did You Know? A candidate who flushed the toilet during a phone interview made a top-10 list of the worst job-hunter blunders.
