If you love all kinds of weather then Maine is for you. Locals say in the year you get every kind of weather known to man and that instead of 4 seasons, Maine has 10. The environment is about as good as it gets, and Mainers are healthy people. Acadia National Park has got everything that a lover of the outdoors could ever need. The oldest eastern national park has hiking trails, large granite peaks, some of the tallest mountains on the US Atlantic coast. If you love you're food to be posh, then you won't be disappointed by Maine's Lobster, often said to be the best in the world. Although it's economy doesn't compare to states like Texas, it is still a beautifully relaxing place to live and is one of the best at caring for seniors. 4) New Hampshire Yet another New England state ranks high because the quality of life is solid in the Granite State. The crime rate is very low, the environment is clean, residents are healthy and it's health care is one of the best. But like some of its neighbors, the state could use some more things to do, but then again if there are too many attractions you do sacrifice it's peaceful atmosphere. It's economy is also strong, ranked 9th in the US in 2014, so there is money to be made. Overall New Hampshire has a very good balance, and balance makes for a good quality of life. 3) Minnesota Residents of the North Star State pride themselves on being nice, which helps explain why this is such a livable state year after year. Maybe it's the rough winters, maybe it's the renowned Mayo Clinic, but Minnesotans are a hardy bunch as this is one of the healthiest states. From the cosmopolitan Twin Cities to the rugged North Woods, the state has something for just about everyone. Overall it ranks highly in pretty much every category such as quality of life, economy, cost of doing business, Infrastructure & education. It is a good all rounder, and just like New Hampshire it has a very good balance. While there are states that offer a lot more & you can live much better if you have the money, states with a better balance offer a higher quality of life for the overall population rather than just a select few. 2) Vermont Sealing New England's dominance in this category, the Green Mountain State reveals the nation's lowest violent crime rate. Vermonters are again in excellent health, fit and trim, with good healthcare but also it offers some of greatest farmers markets in the U.S. Know for its excellent beer, cheese, and of course Maple products. The environment is pristine, and the state is welcoming and inclusive. No matter where you're from or what you're beliefs are, Vermont offers equality for everyone. There's no surprise that Vermont has the second best quality of life in the U.S. 1) Hawaii The Aloha State achieves a near perfect Quality of Life score, with the nation's healthiest population and the cleanest environment. Of course it's amazing weather & the fact that if you live there you're basically in what most people would consider paradise 365 days a year. Residents are protected by strong anti-discrimination laws, and you may never run out of things to see and do. Hawaii is all about just living, it's not the best place to start a tech company, or to make million in any industry, but it is recognized as the best place to live if you just want to live. Realistically you will most likely already need quite a bit of money to live in Hawaii, as it isn't cheap. But should you be fortunate enough to afford to live there, you may never want to leave. The Tri-Cities is a metropolitan area in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of Washington, consisting of Benton and Franklin counties. Three neighboring cities are the principal cities for the metropolitan area: Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland. The cities are located at the confluence of the Yakima, Snake, and Columbia rivers in the semi-arid region of Southeastern Washington. A fourth neighboring city, West Richland, is generally included as part of the Tri-City area and region. As of April 1, 2009, the Washington State Office of Financial Management, Forecasting Division, estimated the population of the bi-county metropolitan area at 242,000. The population of the metropolitan area was 235,841 at the 2008 Census estimates. If the Tri-Cities were a single city, it would be the fourth largest city in the state of Washington, behind Seattle, Spokane, and Tacoma. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-Cities,_Washington

If you ever wondered what Eastern Washington looked like, well here you go. In this video I condensed the 2 hour drive from Spokane to the Tri-Cities down to 6 minutes and 5 seconds. Everyone thinks that Washington State is lush and green. Truth be told roughly half the state is high desert and bad lands, with a few wheat fields worked in. :-) Hope you all enjoy.

The Tri-Cities, made up of the cities of Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland, lies at the heart of Washington States Wine Country. We are located in the hub of the Columbia Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) where 99% of all of Washingtons wine grapes are grown. In fact, Benton County (home to Kennewick, Richland, Benton City, and Prosser) was recently named the largest grape growing region in the state of Washington. We truly offer visitors the opportunity to sample wines made from grapes grown in the area, a chance to roam through vineyards, and meet the winemakers and owners at more than 160 wineries within an hours drive. We have a number of wineries that offer eco-friendly wines, the first vineyard to be Certified Organic by Washington State Department of Agriculture, the oldest family-owned winery in the state sits in Pasco (also home to the Pacific Northwests largest corkscrew collection), and Washingtons first barrel caves were built on Red Mountain, just five minutes from Richland. There are great opportunities to experience the wineries during festivals throughout the year. Local wineries open up their doors to pair dark chocolate with their favorite red wine during Red Wine & Chocolate in February; visitors can preview and sample wineries straight from the barrels during Spring Barrel Tasting in April; and its always an experience to celebrate the bounty of harvest, see how wines are made, and participate in your very own grape stomp during Catch the Crush weekend in September. Most wineries are open year-round, offering free tastings to their visitors. And if they dont, most will waive the tasting fee with the purchase of wine.

Cheap Charlie regales his experiences living in Washington DC and New York City and relates them to Pattaya. In all three places he lived a cheap and minimalist lifestyle and in New York he even resorted to sleeping in subway trains and coffee shops at times as he often lacked hotel rooms to stay at... Cheap Charlie has always had a passion for exploring cities and seeking new adventure. Some people love the country side and nature, Cheap Charlie loves cities.... As an amateur sociologist, cities are also the physical representation of cultures and subcultures, where lifestyles come together and give a a place not just it's character but it's actual physical shape. The lifestyles of people in a place like Manhattan is very different from that of Washington DC, which is very different again from a place like Wyoming. Even within cities the lifestyle and culture of one neighborhood can be very different from the next... Cheap Charlie believes people should be allowed to pursue their own version of happiness and live the lifestyle they prefer without being judged and criticized by others. For example Pattaya is a city that is often criticized by both Thais and farangs, often times people who have little knowledge or direct experience with the city, when really Pattaya is an expression of freedom and the lifestyle choices of the people who choose to live there, travel there and work there. Likewise in America we often hear "blue state" city people criticizing and judging "red state" rural and small town Americans and vice versa. While criticism other people's lifestyle choices can seem harmless on the surface, it can have a real and devastating impact. Pattaya for example has for a long time been under attack by moralists who do not approve of the lifestyle choices of the people who reside in that city and this can lead to real consequences in laws and urban clearance which could and would change the face of the city and prevent the people from living the lifestyle they choose. But this is not just a Pattaya problem, it is a problem that has existed in all countries throughout human history, the cultural clash between cities and countryside and one trying to get the upper hand against the other and this struggle continues in countries throughout the world, not just the US and Thailand but in places like the Turkey, Iran, India, China, France, Brazil etc. Thailand has historically been a good model of live and let live and this observer hopes that continues and that other countries can learn by this.

“Those of us who understand the threat of illegal immigration have to work hard to protect this nation regardless of those who are not mature enough or not informed enough to understand what we are doing.” Stacey Washington slams the dangerous fallacy of sanctuary cities, as the trial of the illegal immigrant who killed Kate Steinle nears its end.
