A quick tour of the Waterfall at Hamilton Pool Preserve. The waterfall is located 30 miles Southwest of Austin in Travis County near Dripping Springs and Bee Cave. The park is operated by Travis County Parks and is open to the public. The per-vehicle entrance fee is $15. Swimming is normally permitted, but sometimes water conditions forbid swimming. The trail down to the pool is about 1/4 mile, use caution as rocks and stairs can be wet and very slippery.

A lovely afternoon sail. 26 degrees, blue skies, and enough puffs to cause two capsizes. Ryan sailing his newly acquired "Skyfall" (#46) plus guest skippers Billy (from Windrush, sailing the Firedragon "Another Bad Habit", #59) and Bugs (Sailmaker and Moth sailor using my prototype "Hired Gun"). Plans afoot to get the class established in Perth, and already there is talk of a new design. Expect developments in foils too. Apologies for poor video quality. Pollution levels dropped 58% in just 8 years after the passage of a ban of coal tar pavement sealers. By using a technique to sample sediment in a similar fashion to analyzing tree rings, the USGS found this decline after 4 decades of increasing values. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "San Antonio Ban of Coal Tar Sealers: 5 Minute Council Summary" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b33Yr_nkADI -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

http://www.lcra.org Ryan Rowney, LCRA executive manager of Water and Hydroelectric Operations, answers questions about LCRA management of Lake Austin. LCRA staff and the Board of Directors are considering many contingency plans for dealing with the current drought, which is among the worst in Central Texas history. Included in those discussions is the possibility of temporarily lowering the water level in Lake Austin. But no decisions have been made and any decision on future management plans would be publicly approved by the Board before LCRA staff would make changes.

40+ Popular Streets In Major Cities - Driving Downtown Streets - Full Playlist Here! - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvEhUAlWIdM2lTX9dNZ3TfJvN-HGA2lTL Driving Downtown Streets - Congress Avenue - Austin Texas USA - Episode 41. Starting Point: Congress Avenue - https://goo.gl/maps/Q2G3KTa7dj82 . Congress Avenue is a major thoroughfare in Austin, Texas. The street is a six-lane, tree lined avenue that cuts through the middle of the city from far south Austin and goes over Lady Bird Lake leading to the Texas State Capitol in the heart of Downtown. Congress Avenue south of Lady Bird Lake is known as South Congress, often abbreviated to SoCo, and is an increasingly popular shopping and rental district. It passes the historic Travis Heights neighborhood, the Texas School for the Deaf, and St. Edward's University as it passes south out of town. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congress_Avenue_Historic_District South by Southwest (abbreviated as SXSW) is an annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987, and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2011, the conference lasted for 10 days with SXSW Interactive lasting for 5 days, Music for 6 days, and Film running concurrently for 9 days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_by_Southwest Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County. Austin is the 11th-most populated city in the U.S and the 4th-most populated city in Texas. It is the fastest growing of the 50 largest US cities and the second largest capital city after Phoenix, Arizona. As of June 1, 2016, Austin had a population of 931,830 (U.S. Census Bureau estimate). Located in Central Texas in the foothills of Texas Hill Country, the city is home to numerous lakes, rivers, and waterways including Lady Bird Lake, Barton Springs, McKinney Falls, the Colorado River, Lake Travis, and Lake Walter E. Long. It is cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area, which had an estimated population of 2,010,860 as of June 1, 2016. In the 1830s pioneers began to settle the area in central Austin along the Colorado River. In 1839, the site was officially chosen to replace Houston as the new capital of the Republic of Texas and was incorporated under the name Waterloo. Shortly thereafter, the name was changed to Austin in honor of Stephen F. Austin, the "Father of Texas" and the republic's first secretary of state. The city subsequently grew throughout the 19th century and became a center for government and education with the construction of the Texas State Capitol and the University of Texas at Austin. After a lull in growth from the Great Depression, Austin resumed its development into a major city and, by the 1980s, it emerged as a center for technology and business. A number of Fortune 500 companies have headquarters or regional offices in Austin including Advanced Micro Devices, Apple Inc., ARM Holdings, Cisco, eBay, General Motors, Google, IBM, Intel, Texas Instruments, 3M, Oracle Corporation and Whole Foods Market. Dell's worldwide headquarters is located in nearby Round Rock, a suburb of Austin. Residents of Austin are known as Austinites. They include a diverse mix of government employees, college students, musicians, high-tech workers, blue-collar workers, and businesspeople. The city's official slogan promotes Austin as "The Live Music Capital of the World", a reference to the many musicians and live music venues within the city, as well as the long-running PBS TV concert series Austin City Limits. The city also adopted "Silicon Hills" as a nickname in the 1990s due to a rapid influx of technology and development companies. In recent years, some Austinites have also adopted the unofficial slogan "Keep Austin Weird", which refers to the desire to protect small, unique, and local businesses from being overrun by large corporations. In the late 1800s, Austin was known as the City of the Violet Crown because of the colorful glow of light across the hills just after sunset. Even today, many Austin businesses use the term "Violet Crown" in their name. Austin is known as a "clean-air city" for the city's stringent no-smoking ordinances that apply to all public places and buildings, including restaurants and bars. The FBI ranked Austin as the second-safest major city in the U.S. for the year 2012. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin,_Texas https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g30196-Activities-Austin_Texas.html http://www.austintexas.org/visit/ https://www.facebook.com/places/Things-to-do-in-Austin-Texas/106224666074625/ http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Austin_TX http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/03/04/travel/what-to-do-in-36-hours-in-austin-texas.html?_r=0 http://www.circuitoftheamericas.com/
