For the first short film for one of five consecutive record-breaking No. 1 hits from Bad, Michael Jackson and director Martin Scorsese created an epic 18-minute tale of urban and racial challenges in the 1980s. "Bad" was named the second greatest of Michael's short films by Rolling Stone in 2014. From the album Bad, released August 31, 1987 Released as a single September 7, 1987 THE SHORT FILM Director: Martin Scorsese Primary Production Location: New York City, New York Michael Jackson's short film for "Bad" was the first of nine short films produced for recordings from Bad, one of the best selling albums of all time. The "Bad" single hit No. 1 in three countries in 1987, topping the charts in the United States, Spain and the Netherlands and reaching Top 5 in the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia and elsewhere. In the U.S., "Bad" was the second of five consecutive No. 1 singles from one album on the Billboard Hot 100-making Michael the first artist to achieve this milestone. Inspired by the real-life story of Edmund Perry, a prep school graduate from Harlem whose shooting death by a plainclothes policeman galvanized New York City, "Bad" stars Michael as Darryl, a student returning to his inner-city home while on break from a prestigious academy. In the short film's extended black and white sequence, Darryl comes into conflict with his neighborhood friends (led by actor Wesley Snipes in a breakthrough role) after showing discomfort over their attempts at petty crime. Angrily dismissed by his friends for no longer being "bad," Darryl challenges them in an abandoned subway station. As the film suddenly transitions to color, Darryl, clad in the black leather outfit Michael wears on the Bad album sleeve, leads a troupe of dancers in a high energy performance of "Bad," asserting his toughness without resorting to violence and ultimately earning the respect of his peers. Spotify - http://smarturl.it/mj_thriller25_sptf... Written & Composed by Michael Jackson Produced by Quincy Jones for Quincy Jones Productions Co-Produced by Michael Jackson for MJJ Productions, Inc. From the album Thriller, released November 30, 1982 Released as a single January 2, 1983 THE SHORT FILM Director: Steve Barron Primary Production Location: Los Angeles, California Michael Jackson's short film for ""Billie Jean"" was the first of three short films produced for recordings from Thriller, which continues its reign as the biggest selling album of all time with worldwide sales in excess of 105 million as of June 1, 2016 and in December, 2015 became the first ever album to be awarded triple diamond status by the RIAA for US sales alone. The ""Billie Jean"" single reached No. 1 in 10 countries in the spring of 1983, including seven consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 - becoming the second-highest selling single in America that same year. ""Billie Jean"" was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on April 4, 1983, and Platinum on February 4, 1989. The song won two Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance - Male, as well as an American Music Award for Favorite Single - Pop/Rock and was also named the Single of the Year on The Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics' poll in 1983. The short film featured a paparazzo attempting to photograph Jackson as he danced through an urban landscape. A specially created set featured steps and sidewalk tiles that lit up underneath Michael's feet. It is here that fans first saw some of Michael's best-known dance moves, such as spinning and landing on his toes. Many of Michael's steps and mannerisms in the video would become forever associated with The King of Pop. ""[W]hen the chorus hit.he sprung into this dance that was unlike anything I'd ever seen,"" director Steve Barron recounted of Jackson's choreography in the video. ""It was just extraordinary, instinctive. He pulled it all together and turned it into what we saw.The camera literally steamed up, the eyepiece steamed up, because of my heat from what I was seeing."" Barron also recalled the crew breaking into spontaneous applause after Michael finished dancing. The ""Billie Jean"" short film made history as the first video by a black artist to be played in heavy rotation on MTV, then in its second year. In 1992, the short film was inducted into the Music Video Producers Hall of Fame. MTV ranked ""Billie Jean"" as the 35th greatest music video of all time in 1999, one of three entries of Jackson's on the chart alongside ""Thriller"" and ""Beat It."" In the U.S., "The Way You Make Me Feel" was the third of five consecutive No. 1 singles from one album on the Billboard Hot 100-making Michael the first artist to achieve this milestone. In the short films for the Bad album, Michael continued to expand the possibilities of the "music video" as art form, working with high-profile collaborators to realize his artistic visions. Acclaimed commercial director Joe Pytka made his mark on music videos with the short films for both "The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Dirty Diana," from Bad. Michael Jackson - Don’t Stop 'Til You Get Enough (Official Video)

04:14
"Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was the first short film of Michael Jackson's solo career, filmed in 1979 for the No. 1 hit single from 'Off the Wall.' "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," directed by Nick Saxon, was the jumping off point for the elaborate and groundbreaking "short films" Michael would go on to create throughout his career. Buy/Listen to Off The Wall: Amazon - http://smarturl.it/mj_otw_amzn?IQid=ytd.mj.dst Amazon (bundle) - http://smarturl.it/mj_otw_bundle?IQid=ytd.mj.dst iTunes - http://smarturl.it/MJ_OTW_iT?IQid=ytd.mj.dst Spotify - http://smarturl.it/mj_otw_sptfy?IQid=ytd.mj.dst Written & Composed by Michael Jackson Produced by Quincy Jones for Quincy Jones Productions Co-Produced by Michael Jackson for MJJ Productions, Inc. From the album Off the Wall, released August 10, 1979 Released as a single July 10, 1979 THE SHORT FILM Director: Nick Saxon Although all of Michael Jackson's music videos are referred to as short films, the short films for Off the Wall, Michael's first solo album for Epic Records, are more classic "music videos," as they are performance clips rather than scripted stories. Michael's short film for "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was the first of the three short films produced for recordings from that album. The single reached No. 1 in eight countries in 1979, topping Billboard's Hot 100, Hot Soul Singles and Hot Disco Singles charts as well as the Cash Box Top 100. "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on November 29, 1979, and Platinum on February 14, 1989. The song won Michael his first solo Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance in 1980, as well as his first American Music Award for Favorite Single (Soul/R&B). "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was ranked No. 9 on the 100 Best Songs of the '70s by NME and No. 16 on VH1's list of 100 Greatest Dance Songs. "That song means a lot to me because it was the first song I wrote as a whole," Michael wrote in his 1988 memoir Moonwalk. "'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' was my first big chance, and it went straight to Number One. It was the song that won me my first Grammy. Quincy had the confidence in me to encourage me to go into the studio by myself, which I appreciated." The short film featured Michael in performance against a dazzling background of geometric shapes and patterns. Wearing a tuxedo similar to his outfit on the Off the Wall album cover, Jackson sings and dances to the song, at one point even dancing with two other clones of himself, achieved through the magic of special effects. From the album Bad, released August 31, 1987 Released as a single October 21, 1988 THE SHORT FILM Director: Colin Chilvers Primary Production Location: Los Angeles, California Michael Jackson's short film for "Smooth Criminal" was the sixth of nine short films produced for recordings from Bad, one of the best selling albums of all time. The "Smooth Criminal" single hit No. 1 in Spain and The Netherlands and reached the Top 10 in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland. In the United States, "Smooth Criminal" reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100-the sixth single from Bad to do so-as well as Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles charts. In addition to being a standalone short film, "Smooth Criminal" became the centerpiece of Michael's most ambitious film project at the time, Moonwalker, a feature-length film that was released theatrically in various countries outside of the United States. In the "Smooth Criminal" portion of the film, Michael and his friends face off against the notorious drug lord Mr. Big (Joe Pesci) and attempt to foil his plot to get the children of the world hooked on drugs-but of course, in the end, Michael defeats the villain. The musical portion of "Smooth Criminal" takes place in the magical "Club '30s," where Michael instructed his friends to meet him. While Katie (Kellie Parker), Zeke (Brandon Adams) and Sean (Sean Lennon) find the club to be long abandoned, Club '30s springs to life when Michael shows up, wearing a blue and white pinstripe suit and fedora. As the kids watch through the window, Michael flips a coin into the jukebox and leads the club patrons through a dazzling performance to "Smooth Criminal." Here, Michael shows off updated versions of his signature dance moves. He also debuts one of his most iconic dance moves: the "anti-gravity lean," a seemingly impossible move. Directed by John Landis, "Black Or White" features groundbreaking special effects and electrifying dance sequences. The original full-length short film premiered simultaneously in 28 countries for a record-breaking global audience of 500 million! (This edited version was created for mainstream airtime after controversy arose over the final "panther sequence.") As a single, "Black or White" was an international sensation, topping the charts in 20 countries in 1991 and 1992, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. "Black or White" was certified Gold and Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on January 6, 1992. The song was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance - Male in 1993. Both "Black or White" and its follow-up "Remember the Time" received BMI Urban Awards in 1993 for being two of the most performed songs of the year. The ambitious "Black or White" short film again found Michael pushing the boundaries of the "music video" as art form. (This edited version of the short film was created for mainstream airtime after controversy arose over the final "panther sequence.") An extended prologue stars Macaulay Culkin as a boy whose father (George Wendt) is angered by the playing of loud rock music after bedtime. After being admonished for "wasting your time with this garbage," Culkin vengefully plugs a guitar into an enormous speaker, blasting his father out of the house and across the globe, still sitting in his easy chair. The "Thriller" single reached No. 1 in four countries in 1984, topping the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart as well as charts in Spain, France and Belgium. The song peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Thriller the first album to feature seven Top 10 singles. The Recording Industry Association of America certified "Thriller" Gold and Platinum on December 4, 1989. The groundbreaking short films for the Thriller album, starting with "Billie Jean," following up with "Beat It" and culminating with the epic, nearly 14-minute "Thriller," truly expanded the possibilities of "music video" as art form. "I wanted something that would glue you to the set, something you'd want to watch over and over," Michael wrote in his 1988 memoir Moonwalk. "I wanted to be a pioneer in this relatively new medium and make the best short music movies we could make." In the short film's extended prologue, Michael's moonlit date with his girlfriend (played by model Ola Ray) is interrupted by his sudden transformation into a howling werewolf. While the "real" Michael and Ola, observing the scene in a movie theater, walk home from the their date, Michael teases her by singing the verses of "Thriller." Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (Single Version) With Lyrics

NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED!! yeahh i dont own the song... i wish i did lolz Jackson stated in his autobiography, Moon Walk, that the song was based on the groupies he and his brothers encountered while part of The Jackson 5. "There never was a real Billie Jean. The girl in the song is a composite of people my brothers have been plagued with over the years. I could never understand how these girls could say they were carrying someone's child when it wasn't true." Jackson biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli promoted the theory that "Billie Jean" was derived from a real life experience the singer faced in 1981. The Magic & The Madness documents how a young woman wrote a letter to Jackson, informing the singer that he was the father of one of her twins. Jackson, who regularly received letters of this kind, had never met the woman in question and ignored it. The woman sent more letters to Jackson, claiming that she loved him and wanted to be with him. She wrote of how happy they would be, bringing up the child together. She pondered how Jackson could ignore his own flesh and blood. The letters disturbed the singer to the extent that he suffered nightmares. post a comment/rate/check out my channel.! thanks!

Michael's short film for "Rock With You" was the second of the three short films produced for recordings from that album. The single reached No. 1 in the United States in 1980, topping Billboard's Hot 100 and Hot R&B Singles charts and reaching No. 4 on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 chart that same year. "Rock With You" was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on February 14, 1980, and Platinum of February 14, 1989. The song was ranked No. 82 on Rolling Stone and MTV's list of the 100 Greatest Pop Songs in 2000. In his 1988 memoir Moonwalk, Michael called "Rock With You," written by Rod Temperton, "the sort of thing I was aiming for" in creating an album to his vision. The short film featured Michael performing the song on a plain stage in a sequined jumpsuit and matching boots, a set of shimmering lasers illuminating his outfit from behind. Director Bruce Gowers praised Michael as "an absolute professional" in an interview with Rolling Stone. In 2014, the magazine would rank "Rock With You" No. 6 on a list of Michael Jackson's 20 Greatest Videos. Michael Jackson - Thriller (Album Version + HQ Audio)

05:35
This is the VCRS's very unique, "no sound effects", digitally edited for VJ's version of Michaels huge hit from back in 1983. Hope you enjoy for as long as it doesn't get booted off YT ;-) "Thriller" is a song recorded by American recording artist Michael Jackson, composed by Rod Temperton, and produced by Quincy Jones. It is the seventh and final single from his sixth studio album of the same name. It was released on November 12, 1983 in most countries and January 23, 1984 in the United States by Epic Records. The song has appeared on multiple greatest hits compilation albums from Jackson, including HIStory (1995), Number Ones (2003), The Essential Michael Jackson (2005), and Michael Jackson's This Is It (2009) and it was remixed to the Immortal album in 2011. The song, which has a voice-over from actor Vincent Price had originally been titled "Starlight". The song's instruments include a bassline and synthesizer. In the song, sound effects such as a creaking door, thunder, feet walking on wooden planks, winds and howling dogs can be heard, and the lyrics contain frightening themes and elements. "Thriller" received positive reviews from critics and became Jackson's seventh top-ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart from the album, while reaching the top of the charts in France and Belgium and the top ten in many other countries. Michael Jackson - Remember The Time (Official Video)

09:17
Michael Jackson's "Remember The Time" short film was the second short film from the Dangerous album and continued to push the boundaries of the music video medium with a star-studded, nine-minute epic co-starring Eddie Murphy, Iman and Magic Johnson. Directed by John Singleton, this short film was hailed as a "gorgeous ancient Egyptian extravaganza" by Entertainment Weekly. Buy/Listen to Dangerous: Amazon - http://smarturl.it/MJ_Dangerous_Amzn?IQid=ytd.mj.rtt iTunes - http://smarturl.it/MJ_Dangerous_iTunes?IQid=ytd.mj.rtt Spotify - http://smarturl.it/mj_dngrs_sptfy?IQid=ytd.mj.rtt Written and Composed by Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley and Bernard Belle Produced by Teddy Riley and Michael Jackson for MJJ Productions, Inc. Executive Producer: Michael Jackson From the album Dangerous, released November 26, 1991 Released as a single January 14, 1992 THE SHORT FILM Director: John Singleton Primary Production Location: Los Angeles, California Michael Jackson's short film for "Remember the Time" was the second of nine short films produced for recordings from Dangerous, Michael's fourth album as an adult solo performer. As a single, "Remember the Time" reached the Top 5 in nine countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Ireland and New Zealand (where it reached No. 1). "Remember the Time" was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on March 16, 1992. In 1993, the single won an American Music Award for Favorite Soul Single and a Soul Train Award for Best Single (Male). Both "Remember the Time" and its predecessor "Black or White" received a BMI Urban Award in 1993 for being two of the most performed songs of the year. Once again, Michael pushed the boundaries of the music video medium with "Remember the Time," crafting a star-studded, nine-minute epic set in ancient Egypt. A pharaoh (Eddie Murphy) and his queen (Iman) seek new entertainment for the court. After a palace guard (Magic Johnson) presents jugglers and fire-eaters to no interest from the royals, a black-robed wizard shocks the court by disintegrating before reforming as a gold-clad Michael Jackson, whose romantic song and dance directed at the queen angers the pharaoh. Michael is chased throughout the kingdom by the pharaoh's guards, pausing to briefly romance the queen and lead a hip-hop dance breakdown before spinning and turning to sand, evading the guards once and for all. Michael Jackson. WE ARE THE WORLD !!! (Solo)

05:21
"We Are the World" is a song and charity single recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa. It was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, and co-produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian for the 1985 album of the same name. The idea for the creation of a benefit single for African famine relief had initially come from activist Harry Belafonte, who, along with fundraiser Ken Kragen, was instrumental in bringing the vision to reality. Several musicians were contacted by the pair, before Jackson and Richie were assigned the task of writing the song. Following several months of working together, the duo completed the writing of "We Are the World" one night before the anthem's first recording session, in early 1985. The last recording session for the song was held on January 28, 1985. The historic event brought together some of the biggest artists in the music industry at the time. The singers who sang the song (in order of appearance): * Lionel Richie, * Stevie Wonder, * Paul Simon, * Kenny Rogers, * James Ingram * Tina Turner, * Billy Joel, * Michael Jackson, * Diana Ross * Dionne Warwick, * Willie Nelson,Stevie Wonder,‎ * Al Jarreau, * Bruce Springsteen, * Kenny Loggins, * Steve Perry, * Daryl Hall, * Huey Lewis, * Cyndi Lauper, * Kim Carnes, * Bob Dylan, * Ray Charles So, now u watch and say hinestly - do u like it? We Are The World There is a time when we should heed a certain cause Cause the world, it seems its right in this line Cause theres a chance for taking in needing our own lives It seems we need nothing at all I used to feel that I should give away my heart And it shows that fear of needing them Then I read the headlines and it said theyre dying there And it shows that we must heed instead * We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving But theres a chance were taking Were taking our own lives Its true well make a brighter day Just you and me Give in your heart and you will see that someone cares Cause you know that they can feed them all Then I read the paper and it said that youve been denied And it shows the second we will call * (repeat) Now theres a time when we must love them all And it seems that life, it dont make love at all But if youd be there, and Ill love you more and more It seems in life, I didnt do that

From the album Bad, released August 31, 1987 Released as a single July 4, 1989 THE SHORT FILM Director: Jim Yukich Primary Production Location: Los Angeles, California Michael Jackson's short film for "Liberian Girl" was the eighth of nine short films produced for recordings from Bad, one of the best selling albums of all time. While "Liberian Girl" was not released as a single in the United States, it was released as a single internationally and reached the Top 20 in five countries throughout Europe, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Ireland (where it reached No. 1). In the United Kingdom, "Liberian Girl" was Michael's ninth Top 40 single from Bad, a record for one album. The song's humorous short film starts with black and white footage of an African port town, before a transition to color, where a production assistant's clapboard reveals the "town" is a soundstage. On that set, dozens of Michael's friends and collaborators make small talk, joke and wait around with one question on their minds: where is Michael? At the short film's conclusion, when everyone converges on the set, it is revealed that Michael was behind the camera the whole time, laughing as he descends from a camera crane and saying, "Okay everyone, that's a wrap!" Three dozen actors, musicians and celebrities can be seen in the short film, including Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Paula Abdul, Whoopi Goldberg, Bad producer Quincy Jones, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John (making their first on-screen appearance together since 1978's Grease), Steven Spielberg, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Suzanne Somers, Lou Ferrigno, Don King, illusionist David Copperfield, Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Glover and Dan Aykroyd. During the video, a mysterious person wearing bandages can be spotted; in the short film's end credits, he is credited simply as "?"
