http://www.RudyMayer.com - Manchester is the state's commercial and industrial leader, as well as its largest city and the home of nearly 10 percent of its population. The city first gained national fame in the 1800s as the home of the massive textile mill of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company. Nearly 5 million yards of cloth were shipped weekly from the mill, which employed thousands of workers and covered more than 8 million square feet. The mill thrived until the 1920s, when competition from southern mills and obsolete technology took their toll. In 1935, Amoskeag went bankrupt. Despite losing its major employer, Manchester rebuilt itself as a commercial and industrial center by diversifying industries. Today it is home to a melting pot of high tech companies, banks, business services Directory City Offices Voting Locations Fire Department Police Department Post Office Public Schools Resources Public Library Utilities Employment Attractions enterprises, retailers, manufacturers and health care professionals. Commerce is just one part of Manchester's appeal. The city is also the focal point of the state's cultural community and home to many of the region's eight colleges and universities. Cultural institutions such as the Currier Gallery of Art and Palace Theatre join with the new Verizon Wireless Arena and outdoor concert venues to attract world-class performers and exhibits to the city. Performances, exhibits, classes, workshops and lectures are offered to the general public at many of the area's institutions of higher education. Other city attractions include the Manchester Historic Association, Franco-American Centre and the SEE Science Center.

"101 Reasons: Liberty Lives in New Hampshire" is a documentary adaptation of the Free State Project's list of 101 Reasons to Move to New Hampshire, which was written in 2002 by Michele Dumas. The FSP is an effort to move 20,000 liberty-minded people to a low populated state that has an existing pro-freedom culture. In 2003, participants of the FSP voted for the "Live Free or Die" state, New Hampshire, as its destination. For over 12 years the 101 Reasons list has helped inspire thousands of activists and entrepreneurs to sign up for the FSP and continue New Hampshire's reputation as a beacon for liberty. The United States is dealing with a major public health crisis. Over the last decade, heroin-related overdose deaths have nearly quadrupled. The epicenter of this epidemic is New Hampshire, with the highest rate of young adults abusing opioids in the country. The state is also second to last in the nation on spending for substance abuse programs. Unless New Hampshire residents are able to pay thousands of dollars up front for programs, they're on months-long waiting lists to get in, leaving them vulnerable to fatal overdoses. VICE News goes to one state facility that is readily providing substance abuse treatment — the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. This is video from Center Harbor, New Hampshire shot on Feb. 27, 2008. The winter's second-biggest snowstorm has just dropped another 10 inches of snow on the area, bringing the month total to 45 inches and the season total to 103 inches. Though New Hampshire gets a snowy winter, 100 inches of snow in a season is rare for the lakes region.

Winnipesaukee is 43,000 acres covering the towns of Alton, Gilford, Laconia, Meredith, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro the Oldest Summer Resort in the United States. It is a boaters dream come true. You can go to restaurants and grocery shopping by boat leaving your car in the driveway for the entire visit. Skiing, Golf, Hiking, Attractions are all a short drive from any location on the lake. The grand waterway known as Lake Winnipesaukee unites a variety of charming towns along its shores: Alton Bay was established 275 years ago, and this is truly God’s country… If you like water and nature – make sure you visit and stay awhile. You can board the MS Mount Washington and tour the towns and islands around the lake or boat to your favorite restaurants around the lake. Gunstock Resort is minutes to the lake with skiing and a relatively new summer draw for Gunstock Mountain is the spectacular and thrilling zip lining. Be careful, this might become your new favorite thing. Weirs Beach hosts a long, ambling boardwalk and great family attractions like bumper cars, penny arcades and go karts. But water is the big lure here, so there’s no shortage of boat rentals, scenic cruises, beach activities and the Weirs is home to Laconia’s Motorcycle Week activities. Famous for its yearly arts and craft festival plus in water boat shows, Meredith is nestled amid thick forests and three major bodies of water. If you love beauty and nature, this town is truly a hidden treasure with plenty of shopping and restaurants to explore. The Rockwellian charm of Wolfeboro has made it a favorite vacation spot of international dignitaries for decades. The romantic atmosphere is rich in colonial history and architecture, preserved in unique destinations like Wolfe’s Tavern, established in 1812, where you can taste over a hundred types of beer. But keep exploring – many surprises and stories await along Wolfeboro’s sublime waterfront. But that’s true of all the towns along Lake Winnipesaukee. So load up your car – or boat - and get ready for an adventure. Call us and we can help you make NH your home. Contact the Lady of the Lake Team today! 1-888-737-5550

A group called the Free State Project is trying to get 20,000 libertarians to move to New Hampshire to push for political and legal changes. Members say the state's "Live Free or Die" ethos makes it a prime location for the political experiment. "Libertarians, who I'm afraid will be disappointed in [the] November [presidential election], will look at the Free State Project as a way that they can actually make a difference on a smaller level with more impact," Matt Philips told Reason's Nick Gillespie. A 15-year-old initiative to get libertarians to move to New Hampshire, the Free State Project reached a milestone in February by collecting its 20,000th pledge to relocate to the Granite State within five years. Gillespie sat down with Philips, who's president of the Free State Project, at FreedomFest 2016 to discuss how the initiative is progressing. About 7 minutes and 30 seconds. Produced by Alex Manning. Camera by Austin Bragg and Jim Epstein. Music by Podington Bear.

Visit http://BARE-USA.com #BAREUSA on social media Click on the timestamps below & skip to your favorite locations! It's time for another journey in to some dark and dirty abandoned places. This time we visit New Hampshire, which is quite fitting for this project since the state motto is "Live Free or Die". The abandoned places in New Hampshire suitable for this project seemed to be few and far between, but as always there is alway a gem. My project BARE USA is a nation wide photography project that contrast natural beauty with man-made decay. This contrast is achieved by photographing nude models in abandoned locations. http://www.RudyMayer.com - Manchester is the largest city in New Hampshire. The city of almost 110,000 residents is divided by The Merrimack River and is the financial, political and cultural center for the state. In 2009 CNNMoney.com rated Manchester 13th in a list of the 100 best cities to live and launch a business in the United States. One of the architectural highlights of Manchester are its historic red brick mills, many of which have been renovated for other uses. The Amoskeag Manufacturing Company was a textile manufacturer which founded Manchester, New Hampshire. From modest beginnings in near wilderness, it grew throughout the 19th century into the largest cotton textile plant in the world. At its peak, Amoskeag was unrivaled both for the quality and quantity of its products. But with great size came an inability to adapt. In the early 20th century, the business failed in changing economic and social conditions. Segway, the University of New Hampshire and other software and high tech companies occupy the restored buildings. Restaurants and loft apartments are also prominent. Manchester's 19th century affluence left behind some of the finest Victorian commercial, municipal and residential architecture in the state of New Hampshire. Manchester's many cultural landmarks include the historic Palace Theatre, the Currier Museum of Art, the New Hampshire Institute of Art, the Franco-American Center, the Manchester Historic Association, Millyard Museum, the Massabesic Audubon Center, the Amoskeag Fishways Learning Center, and the SEE Science Center. The Verizon Wireless Arena, opened in 2001, hosts a variety of sporting and entertainment events, including hockey and football games, rock concerts and fairs. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Northeast Delta Dental Stadium are located right downtown. Housing in Manchester ranges from Historic North End Mansions to chic condominiums to funky loft apartments, and everything in between. Thousands of children and adults have enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at the McIntyre Ski for decades. Manchester is located between Nashua and Concord and is at the crossroads of all the major highways in New Hampshire. The Manchester•Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is one of the fastest growing airports in the country and services consumers in four states.
