The 10 Best Places To Live In New Jersey | For 2018
The 10 Best Places To Live In New Jersey For 2018. ============= ► Subscribe for latest video ! ► https://goo.gl/lOasu9 ============= New Jersey is often associated with a lot of bad things. The Garden State is accused of having some of the highest taxes in the country. And being too populated. A land mostly made up of highways, yet traffic is a constant theme here. The thing is, though, every place has its own ups and downs. And while Jersey has some pretty nasty ones, it is not short of its fair share of plusses. Like its enviable location – it is possible to work in New York and live in New Jersey; or spend a Saturday in Philadelphia and be back home for dinner. New Jersey is a beautiful state with plenty of shore towns and beloved diners. Its rural farmland is a source of fresh local produce that you’ll find displayed on farm stands, albeit mostly in summer. It is a beautifully diverse state, and a state famous for high-performing public schools, with one of the highest high school graduation rates in the country. Here are the 10 best places to live in new Jersey for 2018: 1. North Arlington. 2. Princeton. 3. Saddle Brook. 4. Concordia. 5. Clifton. 6. Oradell. 7. Ridgewood. 8. Collingswood. 9. Chatham. 10. Haddonfield. Thanks for watching this video. I hope it's useful for you. Deer Breaks Into New Jersey Home
Police say this deer smashed right through the window of a New Jersey home, leaving shattered glass everywhere! Cops say the deer sustained some small cuts…but seemed more scared than injured. It happened in the front of the house but no one seemed to notice until the residents saw the deer getting a little too cozy inside. The deer became stuck in a stairwell but was later freed by officials responding to the home. InsideEdition.com's Keleigh Nealon (http://twitter.co.m/KeleighNealon) has more.

Retired Cop Reunites With New Jersey Trooper He Delivered 27 Years Ago
It’s a reunion 27 years in the making, and it all started with a routine traffic stop. The motorist, who happened to be a retired cop, handed the New Jersey state trooper his old Piscataway, New Jersey ID. The two had no idea what they were about to discover. The driver, retired police officer Matthew Bailly, helped deliver state trooper Michael Patterson 27 years ago. “I think it was divine inspired. There's no chance this type of thing just happens by accident,” said Patterson.

Driving Downtown - Jersey City USA 4K
Driving Downtown - Jersey City New Jersey USA - Episode 33. Starting Point: Washington Boulevard - https://goo.gl/maps/xTnocS6FeNT2 Jersey City is the second most populous city in the U.S. state of New Jersey after Newark.[22] It is the seat of Hudson County as well as the county's largest city.[23][24] As of 2015, the Census Bureau's Population Estimates Program calculated that Jersey City's population was 264,290,[16] with the largest population increase of any municipality in New Jersey since 2010,[25] an increase of about 6.7% from the 2010 United States Census, when the city's population was at 247,597,[15][26] ranking the city the 75th largest in the nation.[27] Part of the New York metropolitan area, Jersey City is bounded on the east by the Hudson River and Upper New York Bay and on the west by the Hackensack River and Newark Bay. A port of entry, with 21 miles (34 km) of waterfront[28] and significant rail connections, the city is an important transportation terminus and distribution and manufacturing center for the Port of New York and New Jersey. Financial and service industries as well as direct rapid transit access to Manhattan in New York City have played a prominent role in the redevelopment of the Jersey City waterfront and the creation of one of the nation's largest downtown central business districts. After a peak population of 316,715 measured in the 1930 Census, the city's population saw a half-century-long decline to a low of 223,532 in the 1980 Census, but since then the city's population has grown, with the 2010 population reflecting an increase of 7,542 (+3.1%) from the 240,055 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 11,518 (+5.0%) from the 228,537 counted in the 1990 Census. 20th and 21st centuries Beginning in the 1980s, development of the waterfront in an area previously occupied by rail yards and factories helped to stir the beginnings of a renaissance for Jersey City. The rapid construction of numerous high-rise buildings increased the population and led to the development of the Exchange Place financial district, also known as 'Wall Street West', one of the largest banking centers in the United States. Large financial institutions such as UBS, Goldman Sachs, Chase Bank, Citibank, and Merrill Lynch occupy prominent buildings on the Jersey City waterfront, some of which are among the tallest buildings in New Jersey. Simultaneous to this building boom, the light-rail network was developed.[59] With 18,000,000 square feet (1,700,000 m2) of office space, it has the nation's 12th largest downtown.[60] In November 2015, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made the claim that "thousands and thousands" of Muslims in Jersey City cheered as they watched the Twin Towers burn after their collapse during the September 11 terrorist attacks, and used the unsubstantiated allegation as justification for his proposal that certain mosques in the United States should be monitored by authorities.[61] City Ordinance 13.097, passed in October 2013, requires employers with ten or more employees to offer up to five paid sick days a year. The bill impacts all businesses employing workers who work at least 80 hours a calendar year in Jersey City. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jersey_City,_New_Jersey https://www.facebook.com/places/Things-to-do-in-Jersey-City-New-Jersey/105756796124329/ http://www.visitnj.org/city/jersey-city https://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g46531-Jersey_City_New_Jersey-Vacations.html

Why chronic floods are coming to New Jersey
Railroads aren’t great if they’re underwater. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Scientists have directly observed sea level rise since the late 18th century. And as they forecast the next 20, 50, and 100 years, sea level rise will continue to accelerate at an alarming rate. That rise won’t just threaten homeowners on the coast -- it will also impact the critical infrastructure that supports many of our largest cities. While sea level rise is often phrased as an issue of concern in the future, we can already see some of the implications. Many coastal communities have witnessed a sharp uptick in flooding, during lunar king tide periods. Other places are forced to consider what life might be like as the land they currently occupy goes underwater. Full video: Port Authority commissioner confronts police during N.J. traffic stop
Caren Z. Turner, a Democratic lobbyist from Tenafly, has resigned as a commissioner from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, after an investigation was opened into what agency officials would only describe as "profoundly disturbing conduct."

12 Strangest Places in New Jersey
From the small town that sighted of an infamous cryptid, to haunted roads, here are 12 Strangest Places in New Jersey Subscribe to American Eye! 6. Greystone Mental Asylum One of the older mental asylums in New Jersey, this here was built in the state capital of trenton, new jersey in 1876 and is one of the few that still stand today. Originally built to only house 350 people it expanded many times to reach an astonishing 7700 mentally ill people in horrifyingly overcrowded conditions. It’s also considered to be one of the most haunted places in the State of New Jersey, and there’s quite a few in this state. 5. Leeds Point This is the birthplace of the legendary New Jersey Devil that has wreaked havoc on the entire state. You definitely don’t want to explore the Pine Barrens forest on your own because it’s supposedly the roaming grounds for this mysterious cryptid. In 1735, a practicing witch gave birth to her 13th child at this location. Pine Barrens in New Jersey has often been considered a creepy place to be ever since native americans explored this forest. She stated that she no longer wanted anymore kids and she cursed the child during her pregnancy by saying,”May my 13th child be the devil”. Others claim that when finally gave birth, a terrifying bat winged creature flew out of her and escaped through the chimney. The Jersey Devil is said to have the head of a goat, the wings of a bat with cloven hooves and a forked tail. Many still report seeing the Jersey devil to this day. 4. The Meadowlands New Jersey is known as the Garden State but don’t let the name fool you. It’s home to one of the most polluted places in the US. Known as the Meadowlands, it’s a vast, flat wasteland which was home to illegal dumping operations often conducted by the Mafia when they ran this territory. Located near the stadium where the Giants and Jets play their home games, is an area primarily underwater with many reeds and damp, marshy land. This land was unable to be urbanized into a big Metropolis like the neighboring areas and only really seemed useful for dumping things. During world war II the military used it as a place to dump rubble that was created from the Battle of London! This was also a classic place where the mafia would make people “sleep with the fishes”. We can’t get into too much detail about the grizely discoveries made here, just take our word that this is a strange place!. Despite the obvious pollution, some species of birds and crustaceans have managed to survive 3. McGuire Air Force Base Did you know that Jersey is home to one of the most radioactive places in North America?! During the Cold War, America was quite eager to have the best nuclear arms of any country in the world. The McGuire Air Force Base was seriously contaminated from weapons grade plutonium in 1960. Located just south of Trenton, this was home to Launch Shelter 204 that stored nuclear, intercontinental ballistic missiles. An unexpected explosion happened in a helium that caused a fire in the nuclear tipped BOMARC missile. The fire burned for about 15 minutes and was extinguished with water. This resulted in radioactive material and water to flow throughout the air force base. Some pieces of debris were found a half mile from the explosion. It could have been much worse considering how close it is to populated areas. The contaminated area stretches an estimated 7 acres and it’s closed off with a barbed wire fence. So don’t even think about coming here! 2Hindenburg Site In 1937 a German passenger airship was flying over Manchester Township in New Jersey which erupted into flames with 97 people on board in 1937. The entire event was captured on camera with many dramatic scenes that shocked a lot of people. Many are unsure what exactly caused this to happen but since the giant zeppelin to erupt and it still remains quite the mystery. The dramatic event has a notorious audio to go along with it with the most famous line being oh the humanity. The site in modern times is marked with this memorial and it’s almost like the ground around it is still unable to grow grass which still makes it a little bit strange. Surprisingly, 61 people made it out alive in what was a shocking moment for many in history.. 1. The Devil’s Tree While we already discussed the possibility of there being the devil somewhere in Jersey but what about the possibility of there being a tree that’s truly cursed by the devil himself. The tree branches without leaves are already pretty creepy on their own but many claim that this tree was the sighting for hangings. There are certainly some crazy legends about this tree and seem to make people do the unthinkable! Some believe that near this tree, there’s a stone that covers up a portal to hell! The tree has gained such a wild reputation, that the landowner has gone through quite a bit to keep it from being vandalised

The Generational Divide That Could Kill Legal Weed In New Jersey (HBO)
The race to legalize recreational marijuana is on in New Jersey, and not everyone in the black community is happy about it. New Jersey's governor Phil Murphy has made legal weed one of his pet issues, pitching it as a social justice issue and promising to legalize the drug in New Jersey by the end of this year. If he succeeds, the state would become just the ninth state (not including Washington D.C.) to legalize the drug. It would also become just the second state to do it legislatively, since it will be decided by the state's congress instead of by its voters. But opposition is mounting, and not just from older, white, conservative politicians. In fact, one of the loudest skeptics is New Jersey's Legislative Black Caucus, which could sway the vote in November. Roberto Ferdman attended a hearing held by the black caucus where older members of the black community shared their worries and warned about the downsides of legal weed. He also traveled to Los Angeles to chat with New Jersey native and former NBA player Al Harrington, who was taught to hate marijuana. He now has a successful weed business out west, and he's itching to bring back home.
