Life Below Zero's Sue Aikens explains some of the major differences between rural Alaska and New York City. LIFE BELOW ZERO AIRS THURSDAYS at 9P. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe ➡ Get More Sue in the City: http://bit.ly/MoreSueInTheCity About Sue in the City: Life Below Zero follows six people as they battle for the most basic necessities in the state with the lowest population density in the United States. Living at the ends of the world's loneliest roads and subsisting off the rugged Alaskan bush, they battle whiteout snow storms, man-eating carnivores, questionable frozen terrain, and limited resources through a long and bitter winter. Some of them are lone wolves; others have their families beside them. All must overcome despairing odds to brave the wild and survive through to the spring. And when spring arrives in Alaska, rising temperatures bring mounting challenges as they work to prepare for yet another winter. But pinning BRUJAS as just a rare, female skate gang would be cursory at best. BRUJAS defines itself as “an urban, free-form, creative and autonomous organization that seeks to build radical political coalition through youth culture. New York is known as the culture capital of the United States with its world class museums and Broadway shows. The city spends more than $180m on cultural programmes and institutions every year. Running has seen unprecedented growth in the past two decades, with the number of running event finishers increasing by more than 300% between 1990 and today. At the heart of that change is a major shift in not only the type of races being offered, but the wealth of running clubs available, making it easy for anyone to find a club full of like-minded people at a similar skill level. And it should come as no surprise that New York City, both the largest and most pedestrian-heavy city in the united states, has become the running capital of America. To get a snapshot of what New York running culture is all about, we partnered with author, gym owner, and fitness expert Jeff Halevy to infiltrate a few running clubs and see what make them unique. First up, he went for a run with the Reservoir Dogs, a running club who call Central Park their home. Today was a very special day in New York City. Food-lovers, Instagrammers and what appeared to be half the city's population lined up around the Broadway Pedestrian Plaza where Nutella was giving away free Nutella Cronut holes from 10 am to 2 pm. That's right, the geniuses behind Nutella decided to combine their amazing hazelnut spread with Chef Dominique Ansel's unique cronut to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Nutella and the opening of the highly anticipated Nutella Bar in NYC. The result: the most delicious and sought after snack you'll ever find on a Monday afternoon in NYC. The line wrapped around the entire plaza as New Yorkers anxiously awaited both to taste and, of course, to photograph their new favorite treat. The Elite Daily video team stopped by to cover the madness of the event and to interview Ansel and Nutella's Sr Brand Manager Eric Berger.
