https://www.expedia.com/lp/destinations/178293 New York City is an international metropolis built on the shoulders of immigrants and their descendants. New York City is home to eight million people, and the city receives more than 50 million visitors per year. Your New York City tour should include sampling the food of hundreds of different cultures, and you can explore the easily on foot, by taxi, or via the famous subway system. No New York sightseeing is complete without a visit to Times Square, which you’ve no doubt seen in many movies. Take in its billboards, its many people, and its food, then cross over to Central Park, which comprises 850 acres of lakes and meadows, and is the setting for many a romantic comedy. You also have your pick of art and history museums, as well as the Reflecting Absence Memorial and Museum, where you can pay your respects to the victims of 9/11. Most of all, enjoy yourself, and get ready to take a bite out of the Big Apple. Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town. You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. When you are visiting New York for the first time, your must see attractions can be long and most likely expensive. A cruise to see the statue of liberty or making your way up to the top of the Empire state building and there are at least 2-3 museums you have to see... So if you travel with all the family there isn't much room for spontaneity. New York is an expensive city, so you should explore some of the packages or special passes the city has on offer, like the Explorer Pass, the New York Pass or the New York city pass. Each pass will offer you a different way to save money on the city's main attractions, based on the type of holiday you plan.

Inspired by the 3-mile Promenade plantée (tree-lined walkway), a similar project in Paris completed in 1993, the High Line has been redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway and rails-to-trails park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Line_(New_York_City) Some great links regarding New York City and places to visit are: http://www.nycgo.com/must-see-nyc http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g60763-Activities-New_York_City_New_York.html http://www.10best.com/destinations/new-york/new-york/ http://travel.usnews.com/New_York_NY/Things_To_Do/ http://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/new-york-city/things-to-do/top-things-to-do-in-new-york-city

Bus tours are a great way to see the most sites in the least amount of time. Especially in a city as vast and intimidating as New York, bus tours offer guests a way to get a taste of the Big Apple without having to deal with the stress of navigating these busy streets on your own. You should never miss visiting lots of places in New York while your visit. You can find the list of places that you can visit through Bus Sight seeing tour. 1.Empire State Building No visit to New York City would be complete without a stop at this masterpiece of Art Deco design, and perhaps the most famous office building in the world. 2. Statue of Liberty A stirring symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty has been a beacon in New York Harbor since 1886. A gift from the people of France, the Statue was designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel. 3. Ellis Island Immigration Museum Ellis Island, the portal through which millions of immigrants entered the United States, is a must-see for anyone interested in the personal stories of those who came to America in search of a new beginning. 4. American Museum of Natural History Dinosaur fossils? Check. Theories of evolution? Check. Planetarium space show and IMAX theater? Double-check. It's no wonder the American Museum of Natural History was voted #1 attraction in New York City by the Zagat Survey "U.S. Family Travel Guide." 5. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Known simply as "the Met," this museum offers an unparalleled view of the world, all under one roof. In total, the Met's collections include more than two million works of art that span over five thousand years of history. 6. Guggenheim Museum Known as much for what’s on the outside as what’s on the inside, the Guggenheim Museum is simply stunning. Devoted to the art of the 20th century and beyond, the Guggenheim Museum is a must-see for anyone looking to see art from contemporary artists. 7. 9/11 Memorial The 9/11 Memorial honors the thousands of people killed in the attacks on September 11, 2001 and those who died in the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. 8. Times Square Located in Midtown Manhattan at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, Times Square has often been referred to as The Crossroads of the World. Full of bright lights and billboards, it also serves as the hub of the Theater District. 9. St. Patrick's Cathedral St. Patrick’s Cathedral may very well be one of New York’s most sacred and most treasured landmarks. This Neo-Gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral is a very popular landmark and tourist destination. 10. Brooklyn Bridge Suspended over the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan to Brooklyn. Designated a national historic landmark in 1964, this engineering feat is one of America’s most famous bridges and one of New Yorks greatest attractions. Coney Island an American Pop Icon. I wanted to visit Coney Island highlights with my friend and local New Yorker, Anna, we hit some of the best things to do in coney islnad and coney island historical sites. http://grrrltraveler.com/beaches-boardwalks/video-things-to-do-coney-island-brooklyn-new-york/ 10 Things to Do Coney Island | Top Attractions Brooklyn #NYC A trip to New York wouldn't be complete without a stopover at Coney Island. Coney Island is known for being one of the oldest and largest amusement parks in America. It's also a treasure trove of historical landmarks. Today we're going to take you inside some of the top must-see sights that make Coney Island an American icon. With me today is my good friend Anna, a local New Yorker. Coney Island is known for being one of the oldest and largest amusement parks in America. It's also a treasure trove of historical landmarks. Today we're going to take you inside some of the top must-see sights that make Coney Island an American icon. With me today is my good friend Anna, a local New Yorker. She'll also be sharing some of her favorite things to do here. So right now, we're outside Williams Candy store. It is known for it's candied apples and freshly-made sweet treats. mmmm. That tastes good. You can taste the cashews and the nuttiness of the cashews and caramel, right? And there's marshmellows? It's a marshmellow in the center. Walking along Coney Island Boardwalk is a must. The boardwalk is also the longest and widest boardwalk in the world. You can smell the sugar of the funnel cakes, pizza, hot dogs. You see people eating ice cream, Italian ices... Here's my knish. I think I'm gonna get some mustard on it. Knishes were made popular in New York by Eastern Eurpoean immigrants in the early 1900s. ] A knish is actually a .. the mustard. So nice and spicy and the breading around the potato knish is deep fried in a nice, crispy way. Behind me is the Wonder wheel and this is another Coney Island landmark. Coney Island USA. It's a non-profit arts organization that helps continue the tradition of sideshow attractions. Contortionists, sword swallowers, bearded ladies.. this is where it all took place. It houses a daily freak show, the coney island museum and the annual mermaid parade. Cyclone. The oldest wooden rollercoaster in America that is still working. That first drop is an 85 foot 60 degree drop. For roller coaster afficionados, this would be on your bucketlist. What do you think we should do next Anna? I think the next thing we do, head down to the water. Gotta put your feet in the water. We're at coney island. Let's go. The sand is so fine. That's really nice. I'm glad we did this. A definite must. So at Los Angeles, at Venice Beach they have a Muscle Beach... This is Brooklyn's version of Muscle Beach. Only in New York. Nathan's Famous. The original hotdog stand was built in 1916 and this joint has been a landmark ever since. They hold an annual hot dog eating contest every fourth of July. And that's how you can enjoy Coney Island. Eat your way through it. We were on a mission to find the best things to do in Buffalo, NY and were really surprised at all the thing you can do! Buffalo has a ton of culture, ever-present history and some amazing food to eat. We visited Buffalo's Canalside, Riverworks, Larkin Square for Food Truck Tuesday and we even took a kayak tour down the river with Elevator Alley Kayak. In the end we were amazed that there were so many fun things to do in Buffalo and know we'll be back to experience more of the city soon. This video was made in partnership with Visit Buffalo Niagara. If you're planning on visiting Buffalo, or even if you live there, Elevator Alley Kayak Tours is a must! You can rent your own or take a tour. Your tour guide will take you down the Buffalo River and explain the history of the river, grain elevators and surrounding area. Food Truck Tuesdays in Buffalo's Larkin Square is fantastic to us because we are food truck lovers! Larkin Square has different events almost everyday during the summer. We love food trucks so much, we found a taco truck named Lloyds in buffalo and made a video about their delicious food. We highly recommend you find one of their trucks on the streets of Buffalo while you're there. For more of the 140-year-old Richardson Olmsted Complex and the rebirth of the building to become a Hotel Henry location and when the construction will be done.
