Baby Mummies Get Unwrapped at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto

02:51
Who was this Egyptian baby? And how did he die? History records that early Pharaohs ordered slaves to be entombed with them, to continue their servitude in the afterlife. So when two experts examine the mummy of a baby boy, and discover what looks like a spike through his head, it's tempting to jump to dark conclusions. But who was this baby? How did he spend his short life? And how did he die? Was he the victim of a ritual murder? Or was the cause of death something else entirely? And what can his tiny mummified body tell us about life and death in ancient Egypt? What a tiny mummy whispers to Gayle and Andrew is revealed in Museum Secrets: Inside The Royal Ontario Museum. Things To Do In Toronto - The Royal Ontario Museum

Looking for more things to do in Toronto? We headed into Toronto again, with a plan of what we wanted to do and see but ended up just heading to the Royal Ontario Museum (The Rom). We spent the day exploring one of the biggest museums in North America. We travelled through time from ancient Egypt to ancient Rome, we even ended up in prehistoric times where we had a chance to hang out with dinosaur bones that to us, at that moment, seemed bigger than life. We grew up in Toronto and as children we would take trips to the ROM with school or our parents and it has a special place in our hearts and memories. We believe that the Royal Ontario Museum is one of the best things to do in Toronto if you live here or are only visiting. What is a Barosaurus? How did the museum lose it? Dinosaurs were the biggest creatures to ever walk the earth. And the Barosaurus was one of the biggest of them all. One hundred and fifty million years ago they roamed what is now western North America. Today, Barosaurus skeletons are extremely rare. The ROM had one. But they lost it. How a dinosaur was lost and found again is is revealed in Museum Secrets: Inside The Royal Ontario Museum. Argentinean teenagers Tribute to Dr. Allan J. Baker from Royal Ontario Museum, Canada

06:47
On December 2nd 2014 it was the Public Memorial at Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, for Dr. Allan J. Baker who died on 20th November. Family, friends and colleagues speaked to an audience of 300 people in an emotional atmosphere of respect, deep love and gratitude, but everybody agreed that the highlight was this video made by high school students from Argentina: "Ecohuellas Group" http://grupoecohuellas.blogspot.com.ar. In the last years they helped us in our shorebird banding expeditions at San Antonio Oeste and Las Grutas in Rio Negro Province, Argentina. But the legacy of our Dr. Allan Baker was not only about research, not only about shorebird conservation, ........here you will discover it. I introduced this video after my talk on behalf of all South American people that was embraced by Allan Baker´s inspiration. Patricia M. González Fundación Inalafquen, Argentina
