Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town. You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. https://www.expedia.com/lp/destinations/178293 New York City is an international metropolis built on the shoulders of immigrants and their descendants. New York City is home to eight million people, and the city receives more than 50 million visitors per year. Your New York City tour should include sampling the food of hundreds of different cultures, and you can explore the easily on foot, by taxi, or via the famous subway system. No New York sightseeing is complete without a visit to Times Square, which you’ve no doubt seen in many movies. Take in its billboards, its many people, and its food, then cross over to Central Park, which comprises 850 acres of lakes and meadows, and is the setting for many a romantic comedy. You also have your pick of art and history museums, as well as the Reflecting Absence Memorial and Museum, where you can pay your respects to the victims of 9/11. http://bookinghunter.com New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. The most important places to visit in New York are: Brooklyn Bridge (built in 1883, it is one of the oldest suspension bridges in America and continues to inspire the people of New York City), Wall Street (the bull here makes everyone happy. See where billions are won or lost in seconds), Central Park (one of the world's greatest urban parks. Get involved in an outdoor activity or watch New Yorkers go about their exercise routines), Empire State Building (an American icon, which was built remarkably during the Great Depression. Ride to the top for unmatched city views), Times Square (best experienced at night. First time visitors are simply in awe amidst the bright neon lights), Statue of Liberty (this is one landmark you must visit. The ultimate symbol of New York City). If you want to save time and money, the most important New York travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Get more Tips here! www.destinationtips.com New York City is often referred to as the greatest city in the world and we can see why. Just the energy alone is magnetic. But before you consider yourself an NYC expert, check out these 13 things you should not do in the Big Apple. 1. Don't buy a Sandwich from Subway NYC offers some of the best fresh delicatessens in the world like the Carnegie Deli, Artie’s Delicatessen and 2nd Avenue Deli on 33rd street. But avoid Katz’s as it has turned into a huge tourist trap. 2. Don't Get into an Empty Subway Car There’s a reason that it’s empty. Either the A/C isn’t working or there’s spilled bodily fluid or something is up. Trust us! 3. Don't Stop on the Sidewalk Do not be that tourist that stops in the middle of the sidewalk to look at a map or to take a photo. New Yorkers are speed-walking pros so don’t impede the flow. 4. Don't Make Small Talk New Yorkers are not necessarily known for their calm, patient, friendly demeanor, so don't expect to spark up idle chit chat on the street. They're usually happy to give directions but only to prove how well they know the city. 5. Don't Eat at a Chain Restaurant Locals avoid Times Square like the plague as it is a tourist trap with lots of chain restaurants and visitors wearing “I LOVE NY” t-shirts (oh, yeah avoid this too). Patronize the myriad of local restaurants to really experience the authentic flavors of the city. 6. Don't Avoid the Outer Boroughs Manhattan is usually what most people think of when they visit New York, but there are four other boroughs to explore too. Take the subway to Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn or Staten Island and discover the unique charm of greater New York City. 7. Don't Pay for a Statue of Liberty Tour Avoid this outrageously priced tour and take the Staten Island ferry instead. The 50 minute round-trip ride passes most of the same sights and is completely free of charge. 8. Don't Skip a Museum Because of the Entry Fee The entry fee that you see for most of New York's world renowned museums is just a suggested amount. You actually only have to pay what you can afford. 9. Don't Use an ATM Inside of a Store Some store owners that don’t accept credit cards but provide a convenient ATM inside their shops. However, it's a trap! These machines often charge an excessive withdrawal fee! 10. Don't Assume It’s Safe to Cross the Street Many tourists wander across the street because they see groups of other people doing so. Fast-walking New Yorkers will make it safely to the other side because they have the well-honed instincts of a local. You, however, do not. Wait for the pedestrian light if you value your life. 11. Don't Tell the Cab Driver Where You’re Going Before Getting In This way the picky driver won't be able to tell you they’re not going that far. Hail the cab, hop in and then explain where you’d like to go. Use the subway or walk as much as possible, because taxis will most likely end up stuck in gridlock traffic. 12. Don't Be a Scam Victim Don’t buy blank CD's from aspiring young rappers or be fooled by the man dressed in a suit asking for bus fare. Avoid playing card games on the street and watch your wallet in large crowds. New York is full of scam artists, so keep your guard up. 13. Avoid the High Line on Weekends This public park built atop an old elevated railway on Manhattan's West Side is definitely worth strolling, but avoid the weekends when it's a wall-to-wall tourist-clogged conveyor belt. Now you've got the NYC street smarts, you're ready for the city that never sleeps!

Inspired by the 3-mile Promenade plantée (tree-lined walkway), a similar project in Paris completed in 1993, the High Line has been redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway and rails-to-trails park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Line_(New_York_City) Some great links regarding New York City and places to visit are: http://www.nycgo.com/must-see-nyc http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g60763-Activities-New_York_City_New_York.html http://www.10best.com/destinations/new-york/new-york/ http://travel.usnews.com/New_York_NY/Things_To_Do/ http://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/new-york-city/things-to-do/top-things-to-do-in-new-york-city

Coney Island is known for being one of the oldest and largest amusement parks in America. It's also a treasure trove of historical landmarks. Today we're going to take you inside some of the top must-see sights that make Coney Island an American icon. With me today is my good friend Anna, a local New Yorker. She'll also be sharing some of her favorite things to do here. So right now, we're outside Williams Candy store. It is known for it's candied apples and freshly-made sweet treats. mmmm. That tastes good. You can taste the cashews and the nuttiness of the cashews and caramel, right? And there's marshmellows? It's a marshmellow in the center. Walking along Coney Island Boardwalk is a must. The boardwalk is also the longest and widest boardwalk in the world. You can smell the sugar of the funnel cakes, pizza, hot dogs. You see people eating ice cream, Italian ices... Here's my knish. I think I'm gonna get some mustard on it. Knishes were made popular in New York by Eastern Eurpoean immigrants in the early 1900s. ] A knish is actually a .. the mustard. So nice and spicy and the breading around the potato knish is deep fried in a nice, crispy way. Behind me is the Wonder wheel and this is another Coney Island landmark. Coney Island USA. It's a non-profit arts organization that helps continue the tradition of sideshow attractions. Contortionists, sword swallowers, bearded ladies.. this is where it all took place. It houses a daily freak show, the coney island museum and the annual mermaid parade. Cyclone. The oldest wooden rollercoaster in America that is still working. That first drop is an 85 foot 60 degree drop. For roller coaster afficionados, this would be on your bucketlist. What do you think we should do next Anna? I think the next thing we do, head down to the water. Gotta put your feet in the water. We're at coney island. Let's go. The sand is so fine. That's really nice. I'm glad we did this. A definite must. So at Los Angeles, at Venice Beach they have a Muscle Beach... This is Brooklyn's version of Muscle Beach. Only in New York. Nathan's Famous. The original hotdog stand was built in 1916 and this joint has been a landmark ever since. They hold an annual hot dog eating contest every fourth of July. And that's how you can enjoy Coney Island. Eat your way through it. These tips will help you enjoy more of what to see and do and enjoy in New York! filmed on Ellis Island Copyright Mark Wolters 2016 Tip #1. Walking is a way of life in New York, so don't stop in the middle of the sidewalk. You will get run over. Step to the side to take your pictures of the Empire State Building or Times Square. Tip #2. Be Ready! Whether it is to pay the check or pay for a drink or get on the subway be ready to pay as things move quickly in New York and the locals will get annoyed at you for wasting their time. Tip #3. Have Cash... oddly enough there are still a lot of places in New York (comparatively) that still only take cash. ATMs are everywhere and they charge a lot for withdrawals. Tip #4. You can enjoy New York without busting your budget. With museums that have suggested prices where you can pay what ever you want, to free nights at museums and free sights you can see New York and still have some money left over, though the hotels are insane expensive no matter what. Tip #5. Use the toilet before you leave your hotel. New York public toilets are nasty so make sure you use the toilet before you leave the hotel. 10 Things That Will SHOCK You About the Southern USA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szbyA3Bic_w How Not to Be a Bad Tourist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KebJkfLoEfA How Pickpockets Work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8JFxbevCQc USA Today & 10Best's #1 Independent Travel Videographer 2014 FlipKey by TripAdvisor Top 10 Travel Bloggers 2014 Our Equipment Sony Alpha a6000 Digital Camera. Watch more How to Visit New York City videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/513589-Best-Activities-for-Kids-NYC-Travel Planning a trip to New York City but worried about how you're going to keep the kids entertained? Manhattan offers lots of great activities for children (though we must warn you: many involve copious amounts of sugar). Learn about them in this travel video. You know it’s not always easy as one would think to keep kids entertained in New York City. Uh, there’s a lot great things for adults, but I do find kids get bored and they get tired from walking around. And it’s hard, you know it’s hard bringing a kid to a city that they’ve never been to before cause they’re just not as interested in all the things that you think are cool. One of the most famous things to do with kids in New York City is to go to Serendipity. Serendipity is an ice-cream shop and a restaurant that is on the Upper East Side it’s around the corner from Bloomingdales. Its’ been there forever and it’s a great place to go for big hot fudge sundaes and footlong hot dogs, frozen hot chocolates. They also have like chili, you know you can get like lunch. Personally I would skip the savory foods and I would go straight to the desserts, because the desserts are amazing. You can buy like a thousand dollar sundae there, which you should not do, because it just a marketing ploy, but I think its fun that it is on the menu. So after you are done with Serendipity and everyone has a real sugar high going, uh you can go next door and then you can go to Dylan’s candy shop. Dylan’s candy shop is this really cool gigantic candy shop and have all this retro candy, and all this new candy, and they have these pillows that look like gigantic candies. And, its just, its kind of expensive for candy, but who doesn’t like candy. Um, and its, its, Its certainly worth a pass. Um, a few other things to do with kids are there are some great toy stores in New York. FAO Schwarz is on around like fifty-seventh street and fifth avenue and that’s like the world’s most expensive toy store, now its a little bit less expensive. I think they realized that no one could buy their child like a child size Lamborghini, even though they are still for sale there. Um, and then they have like really like incredibly expensive dolls and they have life size giraffes and you can make your own Muppet in the FAO Schwarz which is really cool. So you can pick out the head and the eyes and the outfit and you know it really is an acting muppet, its from Jim Henson's Muppet shop which is amazing. So there’s a wonderful Toys ‘R Us in Times Square and at the Toys ‘R Us there is a ferris wheel. People love the ferris wheel, it’s free. I knew people on their lunch break who use to go and get on the ferris wheel and just spin around. And whenever I bring my nieces and nephews to New York we always go and check it out and go for a little spin and uh that certainly is a really fun thing to do when you are in Times Square and you’re not sure where to go. Another great place is Max Brenner’s. Max Brenner’s is sort of like a modern day Serendipity where they have all these crazy desserts. They have gourmet S’mores, and they have all these chocolate fountains of vanilla chocolate, and milk chocolate, and dark chocolate and it’s just like you come out of there and you are just on fire from amount of sugar you’ve eaten, but its fun and you guys will all have a really nice time. If you can go to Central Park there a lots of different playgrounds that are really fun. They have like different swings, and like pyramids you can climb in, and caves you can go into. Of course there is the zoo, theres two zoos in Central Park. There is the childrens zoo which is for like littler kids where you pet like llamas and you can look at tarantulas and at these little animals and then there is the big kids zoo. Where they have the um seal pool and then they have the penguins and they have this tropical room where there is toucans flying around and it’s like you’re inside the jungle. Those are just a few activities there’s of course tons of other things to do with kids in New York City, but those are a few of my highlights.

Recorded September 13-14, 2008. Manhattan is one of the five boroughs of New York City, located primarily on Manhattan Island at the mouth of the Hudson River. New York County, which has the same boundaries as the Borough of Manhattan is the most densely populated county in the United States, with a 2007 population of 1,620,867 living in a land area of 22.96 square miles, or 70,595 residents per square mile. It is also one of the wealthiest counties in the United States, with a 2005 personal income per capita above $100,000. Manhattan is the third-largest of New York's five boroughs in population but the smallest in area. It consists of Manhattan Island and several small adjacent islands. One of my favorite things to do in New York is just walking around the city and soaking up the atmosphere. This video is of no one place in particular but was shot entirely from the city streets of Manhattan. From: http://timvp.com

Vacation travel video about destination New York City in New York. New York continues to be one of the world’s most famous cities, a true world metropolis and major symbol of the American Dream. Manhattan Island is the city’s most well known district and the Rockefeller Center in Midtown is often referred to as the heart of the New York. Nearby the Roman Catholic Saint Patrick´s Cathedral is the largest and most magnificent church in the United States. The Grand Central Terminal divides Park Avenue and is a huge station with which the railroad kings, the Venderbilts, left an indelible mark. The huge hall, with its magnificent vaulted ceiling in Beaux Arts style, has been the city’s central railway station for twelve lines since 1913. The confines of Chinatown are inhabited by a hundred and fifty thousand Chinese from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, most of whom are unable to speak a word of English. Chinese characters wherever one looks and restaurants and Asian stores on every street corner. The famous Wall Street was named after a wall which in the early days protected the growing city against attack by Native American Indians. However, the roots of its subsequent claim to fame were laid in 1792. The young state desperately needed investment and therefore the powers that be decided to issue bonds. Close by, on a small island, is New York’s most famous landmark, the Statue Of Liberty. The head of Lady Liberty leads to the crown from which there are stunning views from several windows. New York City is most certainly unique. A city that’s very much alive and kicking, self-confident and always a surprise! -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us.
