According to Microsoft, an incredible 97% of consumers will leave a brand based on a negative customer experience. Meanwhile, a recent study by Marketforce revealed that 66% of customers would switch mobile carriers to get better value for their price. Equally, 33% will change wireless carrier to get more flexible plans to fit their needs. Welcome to the digital world where the personalization of everything is the new currency. If a brand fails to listen to its customers or remove frustrating friction points from archaic processes, loyalty will be sacrificed with immediate effect. A criminally overused phrase is disrupted or be disrupted. But, lowering costs and increasing flexibility is an approach that many young startups are using against sluggish retail giants. The modern-day equivalent of the David vs. Goliath tale is becoming all too familiar agility becomes the new weapon of choice. Step forward Mint SIM, the sister brand of Ultra Mobile that is on a mission to democratize communication for all and has its sights set on disrupting traditional wireless models. Mint SIM’s business model focusses on low cost and flexibility to pay for what you need, and not what you don’t need. "We live in a world where digitally savvy and agile brands like Dollar Shave Club and Casper have completely disrupted traditional business models. We built Mint SIM on similar principles and hope to become the agent of change in the category." Aron North, SVP of Marketing & Creative at Mint SIM. Armed with T-Mobile’s coverage map, Mint Sim requests that its users pay upfront in multi-month blocks for their insatiable thirst for unlimited voice, text and data service in exchange for lower costs. Tech-savvy wireless shoppers searching for generous data plans at the lowest price will probably stumble upon Mint Sim over the next few months. But, is it worth it? Choosing a package that is right for you will depend entirely on how much data you consume. A 2GB per month cap for a three-month commitment will cost $15 a month, whereas a more respectable 5GB will set you back $20 per month. Data hungry users have the option of 10GB for $25 is aimed at covering all bases. There is no such thing as a one size fits all approach to choosing a new provider. A T-Mobile based network combined with a prepaid multi-month commitment will seem completely alien to some. But for those willing to sacrifice speed and coverage for significant savings, Mint might just offer the perfect compromise. As the communication space continues to evolve, there is an argument that unlimited talk and text plans are looking incredibly dated. The new currency in our mobile-first world is streaming services and messaging applications such as WhatsApp, WeChat, and Facebook Messenger. Can you remember the last time that you were worried about running out of minutes on your phone? And Does anyone even send SMS messages anymore? In fact, the least interesting we do with our smartphones is make a phone call. But, data caps are one of the biggest frustrations of his increasingly digital world. These are just a few reasons why data has become the new battleground for Mobile operators. If more users begin to question the relevance of long and expensive commitments to wireless carriers, Mint Sim might find themselves with a game changer on their hands. An unlocked device and cheap sim deal won't be for everyone, but in a digital age where dating apps like Tinder are king, does anyone need a two-year commitment to their mobile provider that lasts longer than many relationships? After hearing how mint sold a million GB data in its first year and 2 million GB of data only 6 months later, I invited Aron North from Mint Sim onto our tech podcast share the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

A mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), or mobile other licensed operator (MOLO) is a wireless communications services provider that does not own the wireless network infrastructure over which the MVNO provides services to its customers. An MVNO enters into a business agreement with a mobile network operator to obtain bulk access to network services at wholesale rates, then sets retail prices independently. An MVNO may use its own customer service, billing support systems, marketing and sales personnel or it may employ the services of a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE). CONCEPT In spite of the massive growth of the telecom market all over the world and accelerating globalisation trends—which made it possible to reduce the prices for domestic telecommunication services telco providers still struggle to provide customers with high-quality and bureaucracy-free roaming plans at reduced rates Miracle Tele deals with these issues by introducing a disruptive business model Our system is based on a solid mobile virtual network infrastructure for minimizing the development costs and offering the users cheaper unlimited and pay-as-you-go call and Internet plans that can be used on a global scale. On top of this infrastructure we have deployed a blockchain powered grid that makes it possible to tokenize the user assets and let all customers of the company purchase Ethereum based tokens, TELE, use them to pay for Miracle Tele services or simply store them, and receive rewards thanks to the telco network growth. Tokenization of the system and distribution of the rewards among its users are inspired by the mobile phone cashback models that are used by a variety of telecom operators worldwide. And though the concept behind mobile cashback and Miracle Tele may seem similar, our project has several key characteristics that make it different from cashback models available on the market and help to resolve major problems of international telco companies that provide roaming plans. Currently there is a large number of telecom operators that offer their customers mobile cashback plans, but they only do so on a contract basis. In other words, the client will need to sign a minimum term contract with the telco operator—which usually has a duration of 12 to 24 months—in order to be paid back a part of the contract value during or at the end of its term. Apart from entering into contract and disclosing one’s personal data, the customer will need to keep to the strict terms of such contract at all times as non-fulfillment of any of the contract terms will probably lead to revoking the customer’s right to receive the cashback. We tackle this problem and get rid of the unnecessary bureaucracy so that the customers can enjoy complete anonymity in a blockchain powered telecom service without document submission requirements or minimum term contracts.

Subscribe us https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL0Rx2AaUwomAe3FGKtgCBA Know about SIM Card Introduction SIM stands for subscriber identity module or subscriber identification module, is an integrated circuit that securely stores the international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) and the related key used to identify and authenticate subscribers on mobile telephony devices. It also contains its unique serial number (ICCID), security authentication and ciphering information, temporary information related to the local network. History The first SIM card was made in 1991 by Munich smart-card maker Giesecke & Devrient. The SIM was initially specified by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute in the specification with the number TS 11.11. This specification describes the physical and logical behaviour of the SIM. With the development of UMTS the specification work was partially transferred to 3GPP. Design Modern SIM cards allow applications to be loaded when the SIM is in use by the subscriber. These applications communicate with the handset or a server using SIM application toolkit. The operating voltage of the majority of SIM cards launched before 1998 was 5 V. SIM cards produced subsequently are compatible with 3 V and 5 V. Formats SIM cards have been made smaller over the years, functionality is independent of format. Full-size SIMs were followed by mini-SIMs, micro-SIMs, and nano-SIMs. Full size SIM has the size of a credit card (85.60 mm × 53.98 mm × 0.76 mm). The mini-SIM card has the same contact arrangement as the full-size SIM card and is normally supplied within a full-size card carrier, attached by a number of linking pieces. The micro-SIM was designed for backward compatibility. The major issue for backward compatibility was the contact area of the chip. Retaining the same contact area allows the micro-SIM to be compatible with the prior, larger SIM readers through the use of plastic cutout surrounds. The SIM was also designed to run at the same speed (5 MHz) as the prior version. The nano-SIM card was introduced on 11 October 2012, when mobile service providers began selling it in various countries. The nano-SIM' measures 12.3 × 8.8 × 0.67 mm and reduces the previous format to the contact area while maintaining the existing contact arrangements. A small rim of isolating material is left around the contact area to avoid short circuits with the socket. The 0.67 mm thickness of the nano-SIM is about 12% less than the 0.76 mm of its predecessor. SIM and carriers The SIM card introduced a new and significant business opportunity for MVNOs — mobile virtual network operators — who lease capacity from one of the network operators rather than owning or operating a cellular telecoms network, and only provide a SIM card to their customers.

Mobile phone companies in Kenya are expected to benefit from more spectrum, allowing them to roll out the 4G network and broadband services. This will happen next year when the county migrates from the analogue to digital TV broadcasting. A worldwide deadline of June 2015 has been put for this migration to be completed. Pressure has been piling on communication authority of Kenya to provide more spectrum as the 4g network projects for orange, Airtel and Safaricom remain on the launch pad for months. Airtel Kenya in particular says more spectrum will be a key turning point for the company as it takes competition to Safaricom. Airtel has partnered with the likes of equity bank and Kenya airways to be the carrier following the issuance of mobile virtual network operator licenses. The operator is also pushing for the regulator to issue guidelines for infrastructure sharing in remote areas which it believes will level the playing field in the industry. Airtel Kenya managing director Adil el Youseefi made the remarks when he paid a courtesy call to standard group CEO Sam Shollei.
