What Military Branch Should You Join? | Boot Camp

2112 ratings | 258704 views
Watch more Boot Camp: Learn about Basic Training videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/498622-What-Military-Branch-Should-You-Join-Boot-Camp Let's review some of the basics about each branch. First of all the marines, they are considered riflemen first. They have more marksmanship training than any other branch, and it has the most difficult basic training regimen. They have the incredible ability to convert dollar power into combat power, as they have no big budget like the Air Force, but they also have lots of military pride. Let's talk about the army, which has the second most intense basic training regimen. They have about three weeks of marksmanship, and recruits can pick from hundreds of different MOS's, which stands for military occupational specialty, and those MOS's translate well into civilian jobs. The navy: deep rooted with tradition, and if you like to travel this is the branch for you. Family men might want to consider the time they are going to spend away from their family though, given the fact that all of the time you are going to spend on ships. Also, if you are claustrophobic, it might not be a good idea to join the Navy, as you are going to be spending a lot of time in tight quarters. If you like large vessels and ships, the Navy is definitely the way to go. They have an awesome inventory of powerful ships. Let's talk about the Air Force. An impressive compilation of machinery and technology. If you are good with computers and technology this is definitely the branch that you should join. It also has the best housing of all the branches too. It's also the most difficult to get into as far as education requirements. The Coast Guard, Uncle Sam's little canoe club. If you like search and rescue missions, if you have an interest in maritime law, if you like environmental protection this is gonna be a good branch for you. You are going to need a high school diploma, and you are going to need to love to swim in order to join the coast guard. And that's it. Think long and hard about your decision because it is difficult to change once you have committed to a certain branch.

Joining marines in 6 years, nervous because I'm 90% sure I am gonna do it.
Tv Robotic (10 months ago)
Dude if you have 6years dont be nervous lol. Train physically but also study math, science, paragraph comprehension, and arithmetic reasoning as these are what you need to ace on the asvab for a good job and those 4 go towards your armed qualification test (afqt)

marines

COAST GUARD! join if you want to be made fun of by everyone else!
Tyler Bueno (1 year ago)
I'm stuck between marines and navy any tips?
Tv Robotic (10 months ago)
Navy has a better retirement plan, you will gain rank 100 times faster in the navy resulting in more pay. If you put the time into the marines and gain rank its very rewarding.
first last (11 months ago)
join the chair force
T C (1 year ago)
Tyler Bueno Na but If your more Into sea deployment then combat deployments, go navy. There's a lot of pros and cons of each branch, I can't tell you which to join that's up to you to decide. Whichever fits your character better then you should go with that branch
T C (1 year ago)
Tyler Bueno I mean honestly as a marine, go Marines lol.

Army if you want combat , marines if you want to show your boyfriend your pretty uniform
first last (11 months ago)
what if I want to insert just the tip?
Original Faggledouche (1 year ago)
Demon a lot of adventure? Army Special Forces. those guys get deployed to a lot of different places because it's their job. Combat? Army Rangers, or Marine Infantry. I would say go Army Rangers, but marine infantry alright.
Spyder Industries (1 year ago)
Go army light infantry if you want to jump out of airplanes, go marines if you want to insert via boat.
Joeballs (1 year ago)
Navy or Marines?
T C (1 year ago)
Joeballs Honestly if you enjoy that action and sea go coast guard just see what they offer. It's possible for Marines to get deployed with Navy on a Navy ship, but I mean it's slim to none. Weigh positives and negatives and whichever you find better go with that.
Joeballs (1 year ago)
+Kaleb Long Right now i am slightly leaning towards the Marine Corps because i feel like i can offer more to the company when working on the front lines but i still really want to experience the living on the sea that comes with the Navy but i can also do that in the Corps but boot camp is a million times easier in the navy so im still stuck but if i had to pick one to ship out to right now then the Marine Corps would have me by a hair
anangelsstar (1 year ago)
im so stuck netween army and marines
Jeffrey Ventura (4 months ago)
anangelsstar navy
Treepigmafia320 (6 months ago)
anangelsstar army is more of a occupational force, they can be an invading force but usually that’s left to the marines

Polemos (1 year ago)
I'm only 15 right now but I'm thinking of joining a combat position. I was wondering if you have to be very tall and strong to join or if they will make you strong in boot camp?
Original Faggledouche (1 year ago)
Army Rangers, Marines Infantry are the best combat positions. of course army SF is just as good as Army Rangers, but Rangers are SOLELY for combat, and not every SF mission will be combative. Make sure you are in shape before boot camp. makes it a whole lot easier
T C (1 year ago)
Polemos na man, I know tons of short Marines who did better then taller more fit Marines at bootcamp. Bootcamp is more cardio then weightlifting so if your good on running then you should be fine.

COAST GUARD got my attention but does not guarantee being in the BM's as that's what I liked , aka Maritime specialist. Also noticed is the only branch besides the airforce that dosent have infantryman. And at my age of 32 almost 33 next two months chances slim down. Only M.O.S for me is electrician, mechanic, or cook. Looks like i should have look into this a couple years back.
Hillbilly True 'Murican (6 months ago)
The Navy doesn't have Infantry either.
Tyler Huston (1 year ago)
I ship out for the coast guard January 3rd best choice I've made. ( yes I'm aware the coast guard is for pussies )

Oscar Morales (1 year ago)
quantum goat It's 11B not B11. Marine and Army infantry are virtually the same. And NO you cannot compare a special ops Rangers with a basic Marine. Army Rangers vs Marine Recon is a fair comparison. Marines do have the worst living conditions of all the branches.
Dylan Castle (1 year ago)
so.... Army or Air Force ?
first last (11 months ago)
chair force
Eli (1 year ago)
Yes
David (1 year ago)
Army if you want a challenge and some type of civilian job like the guy said. Airforce has an easy boot camp, but you need to be academically smart.
Fabian Meza (1 year ago)
1 2 3 4 I love marine corps
ROTENDESTROYER 3000 (1 year ago)
I want to be a fighter pilot although its hard to get to be one because when you think you have the skills to do somthing they add somthing else over and over and in the air force your usually high in the air on on the base in the army on foot you can get ran over,KIA,MIA,Blown up,chocked etc.
Cam Eltoe (1 year ago)
Im trying to pick an mos in the army i want something were i will probably see combat because i like having an adrenaline rush i know infantry would be the best for that but ive always been told im to smart to be an 11b any other suggestions
